I've only had this no more than a few days so I might update this later..Pros-easy to install, small (about the 3inchX3), nice spectrum of light, works good.Cons-light stays on even when nothing is moving, it stays on a less-bright output for some reason..this does not kill the battery but it's not cool!-also in the hand manual it says "not weatherproof" but on the box & amazon page it states that it is waterproof..well I'm in SoCal & we have a rare storm coming so I will update if it breaks. Update: this light works great, it fill the whole dark side of my house, it made it through some heavy rains directly raining on it, it still works fine.

Great quality product. We used them to light our pool and patio area. Unlike other products we have tried that die out before dawn these lights stay in their dim mode throughout the night, this with many bright cycles triggered by the night critters. ordered 4 more for our chicken yard and as a lighting option for hiking trips.

This thing charges up great in the day and then casts a low light all night except when triggered. It goes pretty darned bright when triggered. You will have to mount this where it is convenient for you (and your neighbors). My planned install went amiss when the neighbor said it was reflecting into his bedroom window. I had to find another locale, but this solar security light is slammin'. It really casts some good light for the price.

Edited in January: I loved this light so much that I bought two. They are designed for outdoor use, BUT are not water resistant. When it rains, they fill with water and stop working. If I drain it and let it dry out, it may or may not eventually start to work again. It seems hit or miss as to when these lights will glow. When they work, I love them but I can't rely on them actually working on any given day. Things started to go downhill in November, but have gotten increasingly worse over time. So disappointed with this purchase.Original October review:This is exactly what we needed to light the steps when we forget to turn on the porch light. It glows dimly with low illumination after dark with just enough light to see the steps. As soon as it senses movement, it is bright enough to light the steps and the entire driveway. It was easy to hang and small enough that it's not obvious (ugly) during the day. We have a lot of trees (ie, shade) in our yard so I was a little concerned, but evidently the indirect sunlight it gets is enough to keep it glowing all night and still has enough juice to click on bright when I leave in the morning before sun-up.One caution: Don't hang it at eye level because the brighter setting is almost blinding. We were so pleased with this product, that I ordered another for the front steps.

I purchased this out of a gamble, and I would like to say that this gamble paid off.First off, I live in Florida, so sunshine is a common phenomenon.Second, I live in Florida, when it rains, it piss pour down rains.So in the +2 months that I’ve owned these light, it’s received a fair amount of sun and weather, and they are still kicking butt.It’s simple stupid to setup, find the enclosed pin, jab it into the hole, and it turns on. The only other thing to do is mounted it in an area which receives a lot of sun, and you’re done. I have these lights setup on top of my front door and garage, both of which face east. So on any given day, they get approximately 4-5 hours of direct sunlight, and the rest of the day they’re in the shade. Taking that into consideration, I’m impressed how long these light last. I’ve gone out just before dawn, and the lights still went off and were still bright as heck.My only complaint, if you can call it one, is the fact that this model only comes in black. That being said, a little elbow grease, and a can of spray paint made my previously black box into an off white color which closely resembles the color of my house. These lights are definitely worth the investment.Overall Functionality = 5 StarsOverall Appearance = 4.5 StarsUPDATE Feb 2016: It's been almost a year since the lights were installed, and they're still shining bright. That being said, I recently noticed that the lights were off some of the mornings and on others. Long story short, units weren't getting enough sunlight due to and overcast day and the fact that the solar panel had a layer of mildew from a year of being out in Florida weather. Well, 5 minutes of careful cleaning with soap and sponge, and the panels are back to normal. Well almost. They still have this a discoloration on the solar panel glass, not sure if this is normal or not, or a result from the mildew, but that doesn't seem to affect the overall performance. Lights last all night long, even after spending a day in overcast.
