The Classic Guitar Collection, Volume One

Great Beginner Book
I bought this book as a second-year student taking classical guitar lessons. I've learned first/open position and can play through many of the songs in this book. There are quite a few nice Sor pieces in here that are easy to play, but sound nice. As I move up the fretboard, I'm able to play most of the songs in this book. There's a good collection of songs here; I take this with me to my weekly lessons and usually pick 1-2 a week to work on. I'm sure I'll be using this book for the next year or so of lessons, and plan to buy the next book in the collection when I'm able to play more advanced works.

Wonderful book with great pieces by Carulli and Sor.
This book will have your fingers moving. Even the early pieces are nice, such as Greensleeves, Salterello, and Dance of the Washerwoman. Not much Bach to speak of, but you will be satisfied with the lovely assortment of pieces by Carulli and Sor. If you prefer Bach, skip to Volume 2. The best work by Carcassi can be found in Volume 3. My view is that one should strive to learn to read music for guitar! Yes, it is difficult and time consuming, but in the end you won't be disappointed.

Satisfied customer.
I purchased volume 1 for my boyfriend Brad as a non ocassion gift. He had already purchased volumes 2 & 3 during the 90s. I decided to complete his collection by adding No. 1, and he seemed glad about it. The book was received in brand new condition. I hope that he uses it. Thank you.

Grab this while you can!
Hard to find & highly recommended ! I am an absolute beginner and won't get to this level for a while but these are highly recommended dead by teachers of classical guitar and hard to find. Grab all three volumes whenever you see them!

An excellent mix
A collection of music that has a variety of music ranging in difficulty from easy to advanced that you can play as your skill level progresses. If is very helpful in developing 'mind-finger' coordination and when combined with the Carcassi lessons offers additional practice material that rewards you for your efforts.

Very good collection of guitar music to lead you from elementary to more advanced playing
Very pleased with this guitar collection. It is exactly what I wanted. It provides a very good selection of guitar music, ranging from easy pieces to more difficult ones and provides an excellent pathway for development of your playing, preparing you to move on to more difficult pieces in the repertoire. I highly recommend it.

Had this when I was learning guitar as a child (some 40 years ago). Delighted to find the series is still available!
