I use this when I solo travel or even when I travel with friends. This item does NOT have motion detection. it's easy to install and the battery lasts a long time. The slightest tap will set it off and its really loud

Good kit
I bought this for my college age daughter, but I'm getting one for myself. Doorstop is really loud and well made. As a Security Officer I know the pepper gel is great

Not what expected.
The door stopper does not work on tile, linoleum, or wood floors. The rubber bottom would probably work if placed on carpet or a rug.I haven't used the gel spray, but I've used pepper spray in the past so I'm familiar with the mechanics of it. I just hope it actually contains product.

To thick to get under the door!
I would not buy again only because it was too thick to go underneath the door. I didn’t bother to return, not worth the trip. So I gave my very adult daughter the pepper spray!

The alarm feature is good.
I thought it would hold the door with a slim opening, but it actually slides and a person can fit trough the opening or stick a hand through it. Maybe it’s my floor is tiles and they are slippery.
