Love Ott lights! Great quality! However...
I bought this to attach to a table that is behind our couch. I like to cross-stitch in the evenings and I needed something brighter to be able to see my project clearly. If only the neck of it had been longer. I had to return it because it just wasn't long enough for what I needed it for. I have an Ott standing lamp which I use in another room in the house. I've had it for years. I love it. I think Ott lights are great quality lights.

Needs larger clip jaw
I purchased this for improved reading in my grand's reading corner. The brightness is great and the flexibility is fine. However, the clip barely opens to 1/2" .

Flexible neck, but weak
The flexible neck is on the weak side, so it's not really as poseable as I'd hoped for my application. The light, however, is very bright and does a great job at illuminating dark yarns while I'm crocheting.

A great little lamp!
I use this to light my nail table, and it works great while having a low profile.

Great — but wish the neck was a bit longer
I wish the clamp was a bit bigger and the neck of the lamp a bit longer. The lamp head bring a bit larger would also be helpful. I really like this lamp and it is quite bright and is very versatile. I just wish it was a tad bigger all over in size, especially the length of the neck. A few extra inches on the neck would really add to the versality and options for placement. For example, I bought two for a dorm room — one to hang from a shelf of a hutch to shine extra light in the desk and another to clamp to a bunk rail and serve as a reading light in the lifted bed. For the latter, the neck isn’t long enough to get the light at a good location/height after attaching it to the bunk rail. Since the neck is so flexible, I think a few extra inches could only be helpful — you could always just twist it down if you didn’t need to use all of the length.

Great for cross stitch crafts
I bought this clip on light for cross stitch crafts. It is lightweight and the clip is strong although it is on the larger side. However I have bought smaller lights with smaller clips but after a month or so the led bulbs burn out. I use this one daily at least 3 hours a day and have had no issues with flickering. I only wish it had different light strengths sadly there is only one and the bulb is exposed, not shaded, so when watching TV at night with my husband I have to wrap a dark face cloth around bulb so light is not in his eyes and focused on craft.

Great light, excellent style of lamp. Very handy.
Love it! I have a work area made out of an open closet, and it gets a lot of light but none of it direct. I clipped this on the closet's old over-the-pole shelf, snaked the neck to aim from behind me onto my work, and now painting is a brilliantly-clear breeze.I have several lamps from their competitor Verilux and I was a little resistant to try Ott (illogical brand loyalty, no other reason), but this lamp has convinced me that Ott has products that are every bit as good for those who need true and bright light in their work. It's worth pointing out that in my household, each of us has noticed that if these types of very bright "true" lights are on for too long in a room, we get headaches. This particular Ott lamp seems to take a little longer to give a headache for me, but if you get one, just know that there may be a limit as to how long you can work under one before needing to take a brilliant-light break!

Nice for my small space and portable needs.
I needed some sewing light in a poorly lit room. I wanted a light with a clip as space is limited in the poorly lit room and I did not want to knock the lamp on the floor all the time. I also wanted a lamp that stored nicely in limited space. This lamp has been serving all these needs well. I recommend it. My highest praise is that I forget it is there, I just set it up and turn it on and sew. Sometimes when I take my sewin set-up down I am like "Oh yeah, I forgot I had that nice light!". This tells me the increased light is helping, the lamp is not falling, and it is not getting in the way in my small space. It stores nicely in the cubby where I keep my sewing machine. One upgrade I would like is a case for it, but I suppose I could sew one of those.

So cute! And bright!!
This light is fantastic. Super bright! I’m a coloured pencil artist. I do agree that it needs some sort of a covering as it is bright, but I just put a visor/hat on and then it’s not in my eyes. The only thing I wish is that the neck was longer but I love it. I read a review saying that she didnt like the light because it was too bright and she couldn’t fall asleep with it on. So she gave it a bad review which is unfair. This light does what it’s suppose to do. She needed to have bought a light that was non LED.So… use common sense when reading the negative reviews. This light is perfect, for me anyway.

Good for artists!
The light is very bright, the clamp is VERY secure and the neck seems to hold positions well. Loss of star due to the fact that the package was open, possibly in transit, and the cable was hanging out.

Bright!
Ideal for a work area with limited light or where you want to have heavily illuminated.
