Hunter Killer

Intensely complicated
By far one of the best reads I've had, ever. Superbly well written. The complexity of all the government involvements in this espionage, thriller, is hard, through pleasant to follow. The characters became alive as introduced and became like a close friend by the end of their journey. Thank you!

Needs editing: he’s no Tom Clancy, Senator
I saw a recommendation that this was a good book for modern submarine action. I started and immediately ran head-on into the author’s distaste for punctuation. Where a normal person would use a dash—or at least a comma—to separate parenthetical clauses, there is nothing at all. It made parsing sentences a chore. Then I started noticing Random capitalization. Also a distraction.Once I was distracted, it was hard not to notice the leaden prose and ponderous plotting. I was hoping for some thrilling—or at least interesting—military action. So far I’ve seen a bunch of people talking to a bunch of people and repeating the same plot background. I got it already…. Page 61 and I’m out to look for deeper pastures. Maybe it was my fault for choosing the only book in the series that was promotional priced … but I doubt it.

Great Book
Patrick Robinson is an outstanding story teller, The book keeps you on edge wondering what will happen next. He uses some of the same good guys and some of the old bad guy's, Some of the points he makes are a little off but close enought. I should know because I was in the US Navy for 28 years, 8 Years in the submarine service and most of the rest in under water demolition team and seal team. At 77 years old I do read a lot and Patrick Robinson is at the top of my lest along with W E B Griffin and Tom Clancy. Ya all have a great year.

Edge of your seat action!
Robinson has done it again with novel. The action, the camaraderie, the dialog and the characters where all the best.

Not a bad story line, but filled with “class eliteism”.
Not a bad story line, but after reading almost every book Patrick Robinson has written, I find him to be ennamored by the british casr system. He obviously believes that “class eliteism” bestows the best character traits in a person, and that anyone born in a “low financial status situation” should not be “allowed” to rise up to the “elite” class. I got very wearyof reading this bigotry in his books.

Great adventure filled and very interesting fiction book
Hunter Killer is a great read for all who enjoy military intrigue, political intrigue and general suspense. The book is of such detail and realism one will think it is not fictional. It is an enjoyable read. I liked it very much a d recommend it to others.

Great read
This is a very solid novel that reads like it is from the current news. The characters I found to be very real and authentic, and the dialog and pacing is great. The technical details are well researched. I highly recommend this novel. It also provides real background on what is going on in Saudi Arabia (the author discusses the dwindling wealth per person in the kindgom, and the extravagent lifestyle of the 35,000 princes who run the kindgom, which is increasingly unpopular). CIA sources have already predicted scenarios of this type occurring in the near future. Very solid novel.

Was ok as long as you don't take it all to heart/pick it to pieces.
Some bits I found myself reading intently even though it was a bit far fetched. Remember it is a work of fiction so sometimes some parts need to be far fetched. I know some readers have picked on it, but i found it to be still worth reading.

Patrick Robinson hits a bullseye
That man's done it yet again. A masterpiece spun together with the strength of devastating hurricane. This is a compelling novel that glued me to the pages until the early hours of two consecutive days. The plot is brilliant and hopefully never to become true as I found the situations totally believable. In my mind I have imagined what the world's situation would be now with that despot Putin on the rampage.

Boring
I found this book very tedious to read managed to get half way through then deleted it from my library. Such a plodding storyline.I won’t be reading any more from this author, not surprised he’s compared to Cussler on the cover, I don’t rate him either.

By far his worst yet.
As with all his books the plot is decent (if rather outlandish) but unfortunately his trend of ridiculously over the top, stereotypes as substitutes for real characters has finally gone from amusing, through annoying and right up to completely ruining what could have been a reasonable book.
