Overall I enjoyed this book
I liked the story but sometimes this FL just annoyed the crap out of me lol. Perhaps she could have just been frank and told him her reasons for running or listened to him? No! The alpha was an alphahole but I kinda understood some of his reasons. I feel sorry for my two betas that got caught up in their mess.... I plan on reading the next book hopefully there's a class on effective communication because they all need it lol

A wild fae filled ride!
This book was a wild ride.Fortune Fae Academy is set in the same world as Elemental Fae Academy and Midnight Fae Academy with characters overlapping in each series. As a continuation and spin-off, readers were introduced to an entire new world through the eyes of Gina, a Fortune Fae that has meddled in the previous books while outrunning her own destiny. The book centers on awakening as an Omega and her continued flight from her Alpha and all he represents. She doesn't want to be controlled and doesn't want to submit to someone she doesn't know, love, or respect. The plot started off strong and fast, which was great. I enjoyed seeing characters and events from other books through Gina's eyes. It also wasn't really an academy book as that didn't come in until late in the novel and we don't get to see much of that, though I assume we will see more in the next book. I did struggle with the Dub-con aspects throughout, but that could be that we didn't really get to see a softer side to the male characters yet.The world building for this novel was intricate and original. Fortune Fae operate in the Web within a culture of Alphas, Betas, and Omegas. These groups make up a mate-circle that brings power and stability. The Web was confusing for the first part of the book because it wasn't something I had read before and I didn't always understand the exact parameters of uses for the Web or it's limitations. Also, as most of the book is focused on Gina, her chosen Betas, and her Alpha/Beta pair that claimed her, it took a few chapters to understand the dynamic fully, but again, this was focused mostly on Gina trying to get out of this situation, not on fully embracing and understanding what it means to be an Omega Fortune Fae.The characters were interesting, but a little darker than I usually read. There is a warning at the beginning of the novel about potential triggers, which I was thankful for going in. I liked that we got to see into all five of the main character's heads, especially Seifik, because his actions to Gina didn't make him very likable until you see into his head and his motivations. I think I would not have liked this book very much without his point of view to help understand why he appeared to be such a jerk to her.As the beginning of a series, this was a great start. I took off a star because of how much time was spent with setup when that maybe could have been condensed and for some aspects of confusion, like the Web limitations. The more we get into this series, the easier it will be to understand all the nuances of this world, but for me it was a little confusing sometimes. It was a lot of information and world building to get through, but overall it was an exciting start to a new branch of this universe.

Three stars
Interesting concept, I liked the different Fae and powers but the world was so intricately designed I got lost a few times trying to understand the world. Could be a good idea to read the other books first to understand the world better. It seemed like, at times, there was a lot of redundancy in the description of what was going on as if word count was the objective and not just being descriptive for the reader’s sake.

DNF: What is Going On?
I made it to 50% and I was still lost. I recognize this is part of a universe (one I’ve read) but I’m still at a loss as to why everyone hates each other. The chasing became tiring. The hate. Became tiring. It was just a thing. Seif wasn’t a good or bad Alpha - he had absolutely no character development. Axel was weird. Don’t get me started on the Omega.

Interesting Story
This books has a interesting alpha/omega story. It’s a slow burn cat and mouse type book. To me it has a paranormal Sci-Fi dream state or time travel type vibe. There are some trigger moment so please pay attention to those. There is MM scenes. If you are into those things the. You will enjoy this book. I just wish it had more steam.

Quite convoluted
Whew, this is a difficult one to rate. I love the Elemental Fae Academy co-authored between Thorn and Foss, and this is a spin off of that world. The problem is that I feel like the author has so much going on that comes together better in her head than what the readers glean from the final product.Truly, I still don't fully know the actual plot of this book. I don't know who to cheer for, who to hate, which makes the reading experience tense and not very satisfying.I think there is just too much going on here with too little motivating information given to the characters to get me to understand or appreciate why Gina is so bent on running, and why Seif is so relentless in catching her. We get snippets and nothing more.Honestly, this one is about a 2.8 stars from me with maybe enough curiosity to continue the series and see if it gets better as I have liked the build of the authors' other series with Foss.

Just no.
Honestly, this book put me off the rest of the series, I’m not even going to try to read them. It was pretty disappointing after reading several other books in this timeline. The whole book was talking in circles with no progression. The characters had little to no personality or growth. It was just super cringe.

I'm on the fence about this one...
So, I'm on the fence about the Fortune Fae Realm. On one hand I enjoy the cross-over with the other series, but is proved to be decidedly darker than any of the other books. This if anything would definitely be a frenemies to lovers RH but I'm really loathing the Alpha for which I took a star off amongst other stations I don't want to go into barring spoilers. I have pre-ordered book 2 to see where the story takes us. I'm hoping for some redeeming qualities in book 2. That, or for Fina to get some much needed payback but we will have to wait and see. This book does end in a cliffhanger and book 2 doesn't come out until 05/31/2021. You read that right, next year. Thank goodness we will be seeing other books from the other realms in the meantime.

Wow - loved Gina and *some* of the guys in this great opening instalment.
I'm tempted to give this book zero stars just because of how horrible this author is for leaving the story at the point she did. How can I function, how will I ever sleep, what will I do until the next book is released?😉😂This ends on the cruelest of cliff-hangers but even so it is 100% worth reading this book. I love Gina, Zeke and Rowan, I'm undecided on Axel and I currently loathe Seif with passion that borders on insanity. I started off with pity and sorrow for him, since the core of his quest was built on the very best of intentions, however his total disregard for anyone other than himself, his unrelenting pursuit and treatment of Axel and Gina, soon made me dislike him. A lot. Then the hulking brute would do something nice, something that felt almost honorable, and my feelings would waver. Sadly he would then return to being that arrogant, self-centred, thoughtless posterior-hole that left me wanting to skewer him with a rusty fork. Until that man shows an inkling of empathy, emotion or care for someone other than himself he can rot in the blackest, most remote edges of the web for all I care. In fact that's far too good a fate for him at the moment. There is a huge part of me that is kind of hoping Gina escapes him, though I'm sure by the end of the series I will have made a whole 180 flip on that and will adore the very ground Seif walks on. And won't that just encourage the insufferable alpha.God I love a book that makes me feel. And this had that in spades. It has sweet moments, angry moments, happy moments, anxious moments and despairing moments, all of which combined into an amazing must read story. Gina is so strong, so independent and so determined to avoid a dire fate. She is tough, resourceful and caring and you can't help but love her. Zeke and Rowan are amazing and the perfect Beta's for this Omega. The glimpses we got of Axel at the very beginning of the story did endear him to me, though his treatment of Rowan knocked that sideways. I need to see more of his pov in the next book to help me get a true feel for him.The story is one roller coaster ride and it hurtled at break-neck speed from the very start of the book. It's not even a quick read, and by the end I felt as though I'd been dragged through the mill, but in the best way possible. I will warn that this Gina and her mates don't actually get to the Academy until almost the end of the book. There is one heck of a lot that happens before that point - and all of it is good. I may just have a slight book hangover from this unputdownable story!

Not a fan
I got bored partway through this but just slogged through to the end. Nothing really happened except she avoided things getting rapey a few times. Having seen Gina in the other series I was excited to read her story but this was just boring followed by monotonous sex with 2 dimensional characters. It started off great but I wanted to actually learn more about the characters. I liked Axel at the beginning then he got whipped and dull, I like Seif a little at the beginning but he had no self reflection, his only redeeming characteristic being that he’s not like other alphas and actually knows how to do stuff. Zeke and Rowan are boring from the start and don’t get better. I feel like I need to read the rest of the series to make sure I don’t miss any character crossover but there has been barely any so far.

Not for me..
Not usually a fan of the Omega/Alpha genre, and to be honest didn't realise this was until I started reading. Unfortunately it just confirmed what I dislike about the genre, dubious consent and unlikeable characters.I also didn't understand the workings of "the Web" and found it difficult to follow in places. If you like the Omega genre, then I'm sure you'll enjoy this, but any male that has to drug a female in order to get them to be compliant is a big, fat No from me.

Very enjoyable
I chose a four star rating for this book, because of the interesting spins that the author has made using the normal terms for a wolf pack and spinning them into a new tale for Fae.The MC is an independent and forthright character desperately trying to change her fate as an Omega and running from the male dominated society where Alphas rule. It is clearly a chauvinistic society designed to trap and "keep" the omega, not allowing them the power. Seif seems to be the epitome of this thinking, using words like claim, own and belong. It is an interesting take on the traditional pack element and I am keen to see how it progresses.

Confusing, messy and needs much stronger trigger warnings
This has a typical alpha dominant background and then overlays so much contradictory info. Omegas are precious but Gina has no one to help her against a massively violent rapist who uses every form of abuse against everyone in a supposedly precious mate circle. This book had so much abuse and male rape that it needs much stronger warnings
