Read with a bit of caution
This is a valuable book, but unfortunately it is not always clear what comes from declassified CIA documents and what comes from some other source -- or virtually no source at all. This is easily determined if you click on the footnotes. And if there are no footnotes, it is obviously more the author's speculation than anything else.I write this because I was surprised to see a rather large section on "the Nazi Bell" early in the book. I was certain that there were no declassified CIA documents on this and all the sources I have heard on it have sounded sketchy at best. This turned out to be the cause again here. The only cited source was a article from the Sunday Express that quoted someone who viewed a German documentary. My father worked with German engineers some of whom were "papercliped." They worked on missiles -- both in Germany and in the U.S. -- not anything resembling a "flying saucer" or a bell shaped craft. No one had even heard of this Bell. Also keep in mind that an accurately directed long-range missile would have been a "wonder weapon" in the '40s. In fact accurate missiles would have been more useful in the war effort than one or two strange crafts. (Unless, the Bell allowed time travel, de-materialization etc, -- as some believers in it claim. If one looks at the German cars, planes, and other technology of the time, this seems very unlikely to me.) The author is of course free to speculate in his own book, but keep your eyes open to who is saying what when reading by checking the footnotes. The very fact that it has footnotes and is carefully put together makes it a useful book.

A sober, well written account....
This is a clear, concise volume on the CIA's interest in UFOs at least as it was found in documents released in 2016. The writer doesn't engage in over the top hyperbole and with some added humor discusses the info in a basic "just the facts" way. I liked that and the many cases presented that I wasn't familiar with. A true believer or a true skeptic will find little to disagree with here....

Well Done, and worth the read!!
A fascinating and thorough review by year of a half-century of UFO documentation provided by the CIA. Very well researched and a great reference book for those who want lots of information about UFOs. As a bonus, the author included lots of sightings and descriptions not mentioned by the CIA, which added great depth to the overall UFO history.

The Hail Mary shot play of the UFO literary world with a definative catch and score!
I have read other books by Dan Wright. This one though, this one is like the Hail Mary shot play of the UFO literary world with a definative catch and score! I have followed Mr. Wright for decades now. His background is impressive. So is this book. MUFON is fortunate to have you onboard.

Everything is kind of run together.
Reader doesn’t put much feeling in read. Slowest reading setting is still quite fast.

I saw one so want to read about them now.
Yes, I saw one when I was just a kid, and that my friends is a long time ago, so there was nothing at the time, remotely able to go a fast as the UFO I saw and in fact, even today we have nothing that would go that fast. If you have been wondering if it was real or made up, well I don't make up things, my dad had a way of instilling you to tell the truth, so not telling the truth was not an option. Some of you I am sure know what I am talking about. So, here is one more bit of information I have been chasing for over 50 years, so any information I can get I get it, as I have knowledge from years and years of research. I don't know I guess it was seeing one, but that spark came alive that day and it has never wavered, so if you want to know more, buy the book, it is info you might not find anyplace else. I am not sure I have not read all the books there are, but this one I had to have. Thanks and good luck searching, it never ends for me. Bob

Deludente.Non si può scrivere un libro sugli UFO e la CIA senza una foto e senza un solo documento della CIA.
