I have a Tilley that I’ve had for over ten years. It’s my beach and fishing hat. But this one has a different style to it. It fits well and I look forward to adding it to my classy collection of Chapeau’s.

This is my second Tilley with a wider brim than the first. The durability of a Tilley is hard to appreciate without owning one. My older hat is probably 3-5 years old and has gone through the washing machine on normal cycle at least 20 times. Each time it emerges looking like new - exactly like new, no wear or fading at all. Tilley's hold shape in all but the most drenching rain and dry quickly. The rear strap holds the hat on the head in light to moderately brisk breezes, without having to pull the hat down tight. The wider brim model can be a bit more challenging in the wind but that's the cost of deeper shade. The hat is light weight which to me means that it can be worn all day without fatigue. Not a cheap hat but should last for decades.
