A must have
Well after looking for a suitable boundary mic for use in a bass drum and spending some time researching I decided to side step the more expensive brands (Shure example) and go for this. For £66 this is absolutely value for money. Behringer have got this one just spot on and just what I needed when recording my drums. Build quality is solid and I quite like the light ring around the XLR connect point to indicate phantom power is driving it. Took a few trial runs to get the right position in the drum but eventually found that sweet spot. This really gives a good punchy thud of the bass. I’m using it on a Mapex 22” birch bass drum with an Evans EQ3 resonant head with and Evans EMAD batter fitted with small dampening ring. Inside the drum there is a small pillow which is where this mic sits. My preferred set up is facing towards the resonant head (so the cable port is at the back of the drum by the batter head) and the frequency curve switch is set to flat. Facing towards the batter gives good results too and this way picks up the attack of the beater quite well. Would highly recommend this product. They seem to be highly popular and not that easy to get hold of in the UK so Amazon selling at £66 is an absolute steal. Get one whilst you can!

Robust, good sound, affordable!
A nice snappy little mic perfect for inside a kick drum. Gives a wonderful bass sound and cheap to boot. Perfect for a start-up mic for a studio or for use live. Also feels very robust and has some weight to it, so it won't be bouncing around inside the kick.

Fantastic kick drum microphone
I love this microphone, Much better than my shure beta, and half the price, it's a fantastic bit of kit, this is the only kick drum microphone you will ever need, the only very small set back is that it is phantom powered..

I am very pleasantly surprised
I am very very surprised by this Mic. I’ve wanted a boundary mic for a while for use in a kick drum but have always bought other mics that I needed. With this one at the price it is I wasn’t expecting much but my god, I am hugely surprised. It feels extremely durable and has a brilliant sound. Always skeptical with copies of other products like this is, and then there’s the reputation that Behringer have.

Great for metal kick drum tones!
I got this and a shure beta 52a, and the combination of the 2 mics is superb! A few other pros I’ve spoken with that have shot this out against the real thing prefer this one!

Need to know technical data Double XLR Cable required
This is a typical high quality product from Behringer at a reasonable cost. One thing to be aware of however is that it will only work with an XLR at either end. Make sure you buy one at the same time. You can get one of these for as little as £4.99 such as *Stagg SMC1 YW . (*I have not used this cable so am not endorsing it)
