I will say it again, these author's and this series....Soooo Amazing!!! The talent, each story so different yet hooked together. This one is like a murder mystery with a twist. After dealing with her sleepwalking brother, Dawn finds him dead with the murderer standing over him. Hell bent on revenge, she studies up on dark magic and heads to the school she knows he's at. Lots of secrets fill the schools halls. When her one and only friend at school starts sleepwalking too, Dawn will do anything to save her.

Lindsey Loucks is an incredible writer. She weaves this tale of terror with effortless whimsy and a flourish of a master wordsmith who needs to be read by many, many more people. The setting is the doppelganger version of Hogwarts or one could say if Salazar Slytherin dominated the school instead of Godric Gryffindor. Lindsey Loucks does a masterful job of drawing you in with a relatively simple revenge concept that quickly twists and turns into a complex, suspenseful, and captivating tale of dark magic.

A good story with hate and revenge at its heart. But not everything is black and white including a severed hand and a voodoo doll

What a story. The book sucked you in directly from the first page! Dawn wants to avenge her brother's murder and enrolls at the Necromancer Academy to exact justice. This book was a rollercoaster of emotions, highs, and lows and that ending!!!👀👀👀👀

I love finding and reading a new series. I dislike waiting for the next book, but I am addicted!! Can't wait for book 2!

I received Necromancer Academy as a free copy from the author/publisher. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. Great series starter. The opening chapters of the book felt a bit cliched, but as I read on, the world-building gained more substance, and the character development helped separate Dawn from other run-of-the-mill heroines. Some nicely tense moments and layered plotting, but some details were too vague or unbelievable for the storyline-- I'm hoping the next book will tighten some of the loose threads and maintain the pace. Oh, and way to go on that riveting cliffhanger.

A good read and a real page turner.

This was a great book! I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the world its first book for me by this author and I really enjoyed her style. I will for sure be getting book 2!
