Enduring and wearable kids' classics!
This is just a wonderful book of kids classic sweater patterns. Even though there are only 12 patterns the designs offer a full range of sweaters that kids will actually wear. Each is offered in six sizes, 4 through 14. Most use readily available worsted weight yarn. Many of the patterns can be worn by girls or boys. There is a classic hooded sweater jacket, a checked pattern cardigan, a girl's swing type tunic, a beautiful raglan pull over, a basic v-neck vest, a pretty eyelet pattern pull over, a picot edged cardigan, a darling lace pattern vest, classic boys cardigan and turtle neck, and a couple of boys striped sweaters. The author doesn't waste space teaching us to knit. Instead she gives a very useful discussion of fit, including wisdom on gauge, modifying patterns and her technique for comfortable neckbands. She also gives a thorough discussion of how to chose appropriate yarns for children. Each pattern includes a schematic making it easy to make adjustments for your special kid.All in all, this is the book I have been looking for with excellent classic and wearable patterns for sweaters that will get a lot of use. My grandaughters are 4 and 6 so lucky me - I will get a lot of mileage out of this collections!

Standard, apparently well sized knits for children without any outstanding creativity or
Every person who knits for children needs at least one book similar to this in their library for quick simple basics. The hooded camp sweater is something every child would enjoy, and few other books have a simple design of this staple. Timeless Knits for Kids is most comparable to Claire Montgomerie's Easy Kids Knits, without her directions. It includes a few additional designs, and all the designs in Timeless Knits for Kids would be found in a good children's shop, but not all would be found in a boutique. Debbie Bliss's Essential Knits for Kids had fewer designs, but they are a bit more creative, and it also includes toys. The Bliss designs have very nice accents and design features. In my opinion, the most variety of designs and creativity are in two books, Tadpoles and Tiddlers by Rowan and Kids, Kids, Kids edited by Ann Regis, but that said, these books both contain more edgy children's designs, and some definitely require more advanced knitting techniques and some would require more time to execute.

Great Grandma needed a knitting book for great grand children's sweaters
My mother LOVES this book (she's 95) because she wanted to knit sweaters for her great grandkids - a boy 4 and a girl 8. She loves the patterns and was really, really excited to try some of them. One of the things that she liked was that there was a large variety of sizes and styles represented so she could pick something cute for both of them. THANK YOU!

Timesless Knits for Kids perfect
It is very difficult to find patterns for children that are between 8 and 14. This has patterns from size 4 through 14. Having two granddaughters, one very small and one not so very. Patterns are very appropriate for all of these ages. You can never have enough books for your library.
