Glad I bought this!
Nice sturdy rope. Threw it up and hooked it around a tree branch,. Took a couple of throws, though. Can support a lot of weight. My husband is a big guy so no problems there at all. Can leave outside. Tolerates rain well. In the winter will just tie around the tree so it doesn't touch the ground. My boys are super strong now from climbing. Good way to get the kids outside! Reminds me of that old gym rope from elementary school. Worthwhile purchase!

Good rope for three years with sudden failure equals not so good rope
We bought this in the fall of 2015 so my son could learn to climb ropes and I could use it for some fitness training. We noticed no smell, there were no ropes splinters, and it seem to be a great rope. We left it outside all year without any problem, until this July 4 when a party guest (adult, 180 pounds) was climbing it and it suddenly snapped without warning. Fortunately he wasn’t hurt, but it could have been serious. I can’t contact the manufacturer from my order page anymore so I will have to write this off as money down the drain. I’ll continue to get my exercise at the gym while I’ll encourage my son to increase his domination in fortnight and all Xbox games. I will give it three stars since the rope was great for a period of time until it broke, and I’m not sure if there were other factors that caused it to disintegrate. I hung it myself, it should have been fine… And it snapped beneath The pressure point so it is a surprising failure. Take it for what it’s worth.

Yuck!
It smelled like diesel fuel and had grease all over it.

Rope smells like toxic chemical
Looks very heavy duty and of good quality and seems just the right size for climbing. Only concern, but a major one is that this rope smells strongly of a turpentine odor. I don't want that on my hands, or my clothes. Who wants to smell like gasoline or possibly damage their clothes? Would like to know what it is that this rope was treated with and if it is safe to somehow wash it off. If I got rid of the smell, I would rate it 5 stars.

This is a good climbing rope
This is a good climbing rope. Just the right diameter to get a firm grip. New climbers can control their ascent and descent because there's enough rope to grab for support with their feet. The texture of hemp for climbing beats nylon every time.

I own several ropes and this one is my favorite. The weave is tight and it does not shed. The attention to detail for the heavy shrink wrap rope end is amazing, they even sew the wrap so it does not slid off like my other ropes. The reinforcing on the loop end sealed the deal for me as my other ropes are fraying at the inside of the loop, not with this rope!

Thickness and Grip
This is the best rope for thickness and gripping that I've used. It's worth the extra money for a good workout every time.

I run an old camp type place and not only is it a good size for climbing but people like the old look.
