Use this book as a critical format tool. great book

I am slightly biased as I was taught by the authors, however I think this book covers it all and I am confident it will see me through my Masters programme as well. Concise and easy to understand. I did use it in conjunction with other research books to help with my dissertation but overall found this to be the simplest to ease into the lingo of research. Well worth the money even of a student budget!

This is a must have for all midwifery students and for any aspiring midwifery researchers. It is easy to read and saves wading through a few text books, that are not as easy to read. I read this in a couple of days and had a much better understanding of research terms and the research process. I wish it had been around when I was doing my midwifery training. The authors do a really good job of inspiring the reader to get involved in research.

I found this handbook an excellent resource. It enabled me to understand about research approaches and methods. I now have an idea how to actually undertake research! It will be very useful to anyone studying research. I particulary found the chapters on how to make sense of the evidence and ethics really helpful.

I had a massive problem understanding academic research and this book has cracked it for me! I would recommend it to anyone struggling to understand research
