Fresh lemon scent conditioner
Update to Original Review, below: When I first received this bottle of Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Conditioner, I opened the bottle to smell it and was amazed at the fresh lemon scent. Unfortunately that one brief sniff was the only hint that there was any lemon scent in the bottle. Literally 10 minutes after writing the review I used the conditioner. I am very familiar with the Avalon shampoo and conditioner line, I have been using their Lavender-scented shampoo and conditioner for about 7 years and have always been happy with it. I never used their CLARIFYING shampoo or conditioner, however I have used other brands of clarifying shampoos and conditioners. When I actually used this product it had absolutely no fragrance of lemon, even after vigorously shaking the bottle several times. I got a second opinion, and that person agreed with me that there was no lemon scent at all, just a waxy smell. The conditioner worked ok on my hair. Original Review, before actual use: "Product was exactly as promised. It arrived in a timely manner and has a fresh lemon scent, as I had hoped." It worked well as a conditioner but I purchased the Avalon product specifically because of the lemon fragrance, which it does not have. I plan to contact the seller and return the product.

Great Conditioner with Quality Ingredients
Great Conditioner with Quality Ingredients I’m very pleased with this Avalon Organics Lavender Conditioner. It works great and leaves my hair feeling noticeably soft, smooth, and pliable without feeling overly heavy or greasy. I also appreciate the quality of the ingredients. It’s nice to find a conditioner that performs well while also being made with ingredients I feel good about using regularly. The lavender scent is pleasant without being overwhelming, and a little goes a long way. Overall, this is a high-quality conditioner that delivers exactly what I’m looking for. Great product, great ingredients, and excellent results. I would definitely purchase it again.

Thin and ineffective! Inferior compared to what it was!
I will say 2 nice things about this product first. It's organic... yay. It smells fantastic... a real lavender scent. Besides these things, I found this conditioner to be absolutely useless and ineffective! I used to buy Avalon Organics shampoo and conditioner regularly some years ago and was VERY satisfied with them. The only reason I stopped using them is because our budget got really tight and I had to buy cheaper products. As I have been able to buy nicer products again, I wanted to give Avalon another try. Feeling I could trust that it was a good product, I made the mistake of buying a really big bottle of it on Amazon, excited to see the good value. First... I was not able to get the pump nozzle to release by turning it, no matter what I tried. So, I just used it by pouring it out the top. I was extremely surprised and disappointed to find that it was a completely different consistency than I remember (but same great smell). When I used it years ago it was nice and thick and I didn't have to use a huge volume of it to get good coverage for my hair. This stuff was so thin, I had to use handfuls of it just to feel it on my hair at all, and even with a huge volume applied, I felt like there was nothing in my hair. Even what was in my hair just ran and dripped off instead of being retained and letting my hair soak in it a little while. After I rinsed and got out of the shower, I was disgusted to find that, as I tried to brush my hair, not only was my hair dry and tangly, as if it has not been conditioned at all, but I began to notice a waxy build up on my hair brush, which I have never yet experienced! I would return it if my return window was not already closed. Now it will probably just go in the trash... a complete WASTE of money and resources!

It’s good
Smells really nice, I really like that it says no artificial fragrances but I do have very long and thick hair and I do have to use quite a bit of conditioner for it to really detangle well. It does work, it just takes a lot of it. So if you have long hair, I’m not sure…. I do like that it comes in a large bottle. And other than how much I have to use, I like it.

Such a wonderful product.
I have been using avalon organics for about 2 years now. I started on the biotin poo and conditioner, and later switched to the lavender set. My hair is the healthiest and happiest it has been in years and I cannot recommend this brand enough. I have type 2c hair and it supports my curl health as well as keeping my hair soft and shiny!

conditioner ingredients separate and only with mostwatery liquid part come out.
The Rosemary shampoo and conditioner have been discontinued. I had problems with the conditioner. After a few weeks it became watery and the inside walls of the bottle were thick with the conditioner. The shampoo was great. Rosemary shampoo and conditioner have been discontinued, conditioner ingredients separate and only with most liquid part come out.

Tangles, bleaches, and hard to spread
I have fairly sensitive skin and can get quite itchy if I use a shampoo or soap that has certain chemicals in it. So I've been on a quest to find soap, shampoo, and conditioner products that have fewer odd chemicals in this. My quest is challenging because I also donate my hair to charity every three years. So I need my hair to remain thick and healthy while I do this. Otherwise my charity donations will make recipients unhappy rather than happy. The Avalon Organics Lemon Conditioner seemed like it would be just right for me. My boyfriend loves the aroma of lemon, so that would be a plus. It would have fewer chemicals. It says it restores natural highlights and color. It removes build-up. All great! So I began trying it. First, the conditioner is very thick, and the container cannot sit on its lid. This means one has to really pound it to get the conditioner out. This is bad enough when the bottle is beginning, but by the end of the bottle it makes getting any out quite challenging. It means the last part of the bottle is wasted. Next, the instructions say to massage it in "from the roots up". Hmmm. I'm not sure how that's even technically possible unless one had an eyedropper. If I have a dollop of conditioner on my hand, and I put it on my head, it is going to touch the top of my hair first. I then have to massage it down *towards* the roots. I don't see how I could get it to start at the roots and then work its way out. The conditioner seems to get absorbed nearly instantly. That then means there isn't any left to "massage around" and get to the rest of the hair. Over my time with the bottle I used larger and larger (bordering on, to me, outrageous) amounts of conditioner on my hair. My hair is currently only just-past-shoulders length, too. It's not even at its full waist length point. I would put a giant dollop in my hand, start putting it on my hair, and it would vanish nearly instantly. It's not that my hair is super-dry either. If anything I'd call it slightly oily. So I never felt as if I was getting all my hair conditioned. When I was done, the hair would feel squeaky clean - which is a problem. When I then tried to comb or brush it, it would tangle. The hair was not detangling as most conditioners would do. It would catch on the brush or comb. So this meant more hair would pull out during the brushing process. All of this was odd enough. I've tested many, many conditioners over the years and not had this combination of issues happen before. But then the clincher. I was out kayaking with my boyfriend recently, and he looked at my head and then took a picture of it. Apparently my hair is now turning white at a prodigious rate where I am putting most of the conditioner. I have dark hair. I do realize that many people with blonde hair use lemon juice to bleach their hair and make it lighter. I should have realized this would happen. Because I am a sucker for punishment I will try the rosemary version to see if it's any better, and post a review there when I'm done testing. But I can unequivocally say that this lemon is just not for me. I would not recommend it for anyone with dark hair, or with long hair. It probably would be best for someone with short, blonde hair who likes the scent of lemon. I purchased this conditioner with my own funds.

Me encanta, da brillo y huele muy bien. Reseca un poco, pero con mascarilla después genial.

Excellent product - but be prepared for something different
I switched to Avalon Organics and tried this conditioner after learning about the use of formaldehyde (DMDM) in my previous conditioner of choice under the OGX brand. I chose this conditioner because cosmetic ingredient analysis websites show it has no harmful ingredients. The pros are this smells great, leaves my hair feeling fresh and clean. The cons are that this is less thick than conditioner I'm used to, so it's more on the liquidy side. This takes a little getting used to but overall I'd recommend it.
