Very easy to use. It does NOT come with a battery,that's the reason for 4 stars. This is not a line out counter this is to measure how much line is ON your reel. Recommend for anyone with a bait caster style reel and heavy braid to make sure you don't use the end of the line.

Everything working correctly and smooth. I been surprised. I tried all counters before, this one is the best one. Except ONE BIG THING: you need 5oz weight at least to make it work when you need to know how deep it goes. This is on fresh water, salt water need more weight.

Glad I bought this model with the spring lock clamp. Clamps down pretty securely on the rod. Good display. Would be nice if the LCD display turned the numbers around when rotated, but overall that's a minimal deal.

Not only did it not work with braid, it feels like complete junk. I was only using it to try and measure the amount of line I was spooling on my reel. No way I would use this for fishing.

It’s exactly what I expected it works as expected - I would buy a new reel with line counter - much easier to use - sometimes the clip or clamp that attaches to pole should be larger for thicker poles

Bought this item to help me put out my bluefin trolling spread. This unit easily clamped down on my biggest tuna rods.

Poor quality. You can be more accurate by measuring how much line is spooled on the real per each crank revolution. Line slips on the spool of the counter. Don’t buy if you want accurate line measurements. I’m gonna try to return for scrap.
