Is the box that comes with it able to hold sleeved MTG cards?

No, it is wide enough but not nearly tall enough. Plus, I would hesitate to call it a "box" and more just leftover packaging.

Why are these so much more expensive than previous Commander decks?

All depends on when you decided to buy them. When the list of cards became available some decks became more expensive by individual sellers due to the contents worth. My reccomendation is if you can find it cheaper elsewhere buy it there.

Does this come with a keyword counter? all of the unboxing videos i've seen either didn't mention it or revealed a blank sheet.

You don’t really need a keyword counter sheet for this one. This deck is all about casting instants after or during combat. I think the one you might be thinking of is Symbiotic Swarm, and it does come with a few keyword counter sheets. Hope this helps you!
