Take a sneak peek inside homes from all around the world with this charming lift-the-flap book, written by Kate Baker and beautifully illustrated by Rebecca Green. From cozy wooden houses in snow-blanketed Greenland to traditional Maasai mud huts in East Africa, young children will discover different ways of living across the globe and get a unique glimpse into diverse cultures and communities. Suitable for children aged three and upwards, the colorful artwork is filled with fun details, helping to bring these miniature worlds to life. With flaps on every page allowing kids the chance to open doors, peep through windows and uncover what makes each distinct culture tick, this book encourages kids to be curious about our diverse world. Whether it's Mongolian yurts in the rolling plains of the Gobi Desert or raised jungle homes in the wilds of the desertcart Rainforest, A Place Called Home will take you on a journey all around the world to see how other people live. About Lonely Planet Kids: Lonely Planet Kids - an imprint of the world's leading travel authority Lonely Planet - published its first book in 2011. Over the past 45 years, Lonely Planet has grown a dedicated global community of travellers, many of whom are now sharing a passion for exploration with their children. Lonely Planet Kids educates and encourages young readers at home and in school to learn about the world with engaging books on culture, sociology, geography, nature, history, space and more. We want to inspire the next generation of global citizens and help kids and their parents to approach life in a way that makes every day an adventure. Come explore! Review: Beautiful way to teach diversity through our homes - This is such a beautiful book to teach diversity to young children in a tangle way; how we all make different homes in different places. I loved all the extra details behind the flaps and the illustrations are lovely. I think it might be too wordy for my 3-5 year olds as a large carpet group, but I can see it working for more attentive small groups of students or for use in the home or with a smaller number of children. Review: Unique and fun book - This is an adorable little book that I bought for my 5-year-old who really enjoys it. The windows are a lot of fun, and I like that it incorporates a variety of different living situations. I wish that it was perhaps a little longer has it only provides five or six different types of communities but I think it has a nice sample.

Very High Quality
This is one of those kids books I bought because I too also am interested in the subject and appreciate beautiful illustrations. This hit all the boxes and I am excited to read this with my daughter over and over again as she grows up. Sheโs 2 so the content is a little beyond her interest right now but she loves the flaps and pictures of all the people. Pro tip - if youโre getting this as a gift for a toddler, pre-peel the flaps. They are so high quality it took effort for me to open them live, which caused a vengeful two year old to scream impatiently to see what behind each flap. Save your eardrums and do it before presenting to the child.

Mostly good but evolution referred to
This book is interesting and fun, but amazingly, dinosaur fossils and millions of years are referred to on a page about living underground.

Well
My 2.5 year old loves this book. There are so many things to discover on each page and she is so surprised seeing how other people live (great lesson for her). We also enjoy looking at the representation of some of our favourite places we visited Pre-kids!!! I wish they would release more of these, I would buy them without hesitation.
