Worked Great!!
I was excited to see the TerraGrips grips for my JD L130 (TerraGrips Tire Chains 22x9.5-12, 20x10-8 Turf Saver). I had been using chains for a long time and you have to be careful on the stone patio's, sidewalk and driveway otherwise you get some good scratches. Minor ones typically go away by themselves.Initial thoughts. When I took them out of the box they seemed like they were using old tires, but it looked new, not sure, maybe defective tires being reused... don't know. Build quality looks good. The only silly piece is the pull tie for holding down extra chain which I did not have to do. I'd use something like this instead like I did with my steel chains. http://www.swingsetmall.com/quick-link/?gclid=CO_cwp6ByMoCFQotHwodVj0AYgWhen I first put them on, I had to watch the video on the website, instructions were mostly clear, video helped. The chains looked about 5 inches to short but if you following the video instructions, they fit great!Just had 30 inches of snow in Virginia, they worked perfectly. With a tractor plow you have to plow regularly otherwise it gets to deep to deal with. The pro/con with steel chains is that when you are pushing a heavy load or pushing up into your pile of snow, they will slip. That helps with digging away at lower hard layers, but it can also scratch surfaces. With the Terragrips, when the load is to heavy to push, they grip the ground so well that your wheel just stops when it's had enough (sometimes spin but not fast spin like steel chains). Overall that is a pro but in deep stuff with a lower layers, sometimes the spin with steel chains helps.Overall, I will never use steel chains again.

Great product for added traction on slopes and inclines.
These work great for added traction. I was having difficulty cutting on slopes and inclines with the Turf tread tires that came as standard equipment on the lawn tractor I purchased. Prior to using these tire chains, I got stuck four seperate times and needed to shut the mower down, put it in neutral and push it off the incline. (The culvert in front of my home exceeds a 30 degree incline). With these chains attached, I did not get stuck even one time. They did not tear up my grass and they are safe on my cement floor and asphalt driveway. The ride on a solid surface (pavement) is extremely rough, but not too noticeable while riding on the lawn. You do want to make sure these are tight so you need to really work at getting them attached on the highest possible link. Deflating the tires is a must. I was able to attach these to the third link from the end in the chain, but I used a couple screwdrivers and leveraged them against the tractor to pull the chains as tight as possible. It took me a little better than an hour to get them tight as I wanted. I did not add weights to the tractor, but if these had not worked as well as they did, I was going to add weight as another option. The weights are not needed now. Time will tell if they hold up to wear and tear.

This is a very useful product if you have traction problems with your
I have several lawn tractors. I have a 21 hp 48 inch craftsman which mows beautifully but since it does not have a locking differential, the wheel spins on the slightest grade or on wet grass. It was driving me nuts. I recently bought these rubberized cleats and they were fairly easy to install. There is a good video which you can watch which will show you how to do it. It takes a little patience but took me about 10 minutes to install. These things are great? My lawn tractor is now more like a Jeep and I can go up any grade without the wheels spinning. When you ride on asphalt, the ride is understandably bumpy but once you hit the grass it's fairly smooth and it leaves no marks. This is a great product.

Exactly what I needed
I will admit, I was skeptical at first, but these rubber chains have performed well this winter. I have a relatively flat asphalt driveway. I didn't want to use regular chains that could scratch the driveway, so I thought I would try these. I use them for plowing snow with my Cub Cadet lawn tractor. Although this winter was fairly mild, I do live in a lake belt and we can get a lot of snow at once. I have plowed up to 6" at a time. The key is the water content of the snow. If the snow is real powdery, no issues at all. If the snow is a "wet" snow, then I have had some traction issues....but, always was able to get the plowing done. Some keys to remember are that in most cases angling the plow is easier to push alot of snow vs having the blade straight. Also, of course smaller swipes can help. As far as install, I aired down my tires then rolled the tractor onto the chains. The install was pretty straightforward according the instructions included. In summary, though they weren't perfect for traction in some cases, they performed well enough to meet my needs.
