Surviving the Chill: A Boy Scout's Review of the Cross Canyon 2 Tent
As a Boy/Cub Scout Leader for nearly six years, I've had my fair share of outdoor adventures and learned the importance of reliable gear the hard way. The Cross Canyon 2 Tent, however, stood up to a rigorous test during a particularly cold weekend in New Hampshire, where temperatures plummeted to a biting 12°F. Remarkably, the tent maintained its integrity, keeping moisture at bay and proving its worth as a sturdy shelter against the cold.Setting up and breaking down the tent in such frigid conditions was surprisingly manageable, a testament to its thoughtful design. Its lightweight pack adds to its appeal, making it a viable option for those who prioritize ease of transport without sacrificing space and comfort. Standing at 6'5", I often struggle to find a tent that can accommodate my height comfortably, but the Cross Canyon 2 Tent proved spacious and inviting.Durability is a key factor in any tent I consider, and this one feels built to last. It comfortably straddles the line between a two and a half to three-season tent, making it a versatile choice for various weather conditions, short of the harshest winter extremes. An added bonus was the double inflated mattress, which fits perfectly within the tent's dimensions, elevating the sleeping experience to new levels of comfort. For fellow outdoor enthusiasts, the Cross Canyon 2 Tent comes highly recommended. Its blend of durability, comfort, and weather resistance makes it a solid choice for anyone looking to explore the great outdoors, regardless of their height or the season.

Great tent at a great price!
Got it on markdown, and then had a coupon too. Sets up quick and tears down quick. Haven't used it yet.

Easy set up, good amount of headspace
This cot is small and lightweight enough to take on a enough to take in a suitcase when flying to a camping destination. But it’s not suitable for backpacking or bike packing. The interior space is generous enough for two campers and the ceiling is high enough so you can sit up to dress. I especially appreciate having two doors and vestibules.

Mostly good, decided to keep it
I had been considering spending a bit more to get a lighter option since I’ll want that eventually, but I tried this one out first and actually really liked it. I couldn’t ever get the upper-side pockets to work like in the photo (you kind of have to choose between the top pocket or the two upper side pockets), but for the price that’s acceptable. It’s taller than I strictly need but that’s kinda nice actually. I like that the rain fly has little vents at the top for some semblance of ventilation during summer storms. The only problem is some design flaw caused the zipper on one side of the rain fly to snag on the fabric surrounding it. This happens a lot, and while trying to fix it the zipper guide regularly falls off its rails. The place where you would pull them back together (like the part at the bottom of your jacket) is hidden in the top, sewn in. I've been able to get them back together without a guide but this continues to happen now. Luckily there are two entrances to this tent, and the rain fly has velcro pieces as a second measure. I carry safety pins and an extra trash bag to cover up the gaps between the velcro on that side if it rains. If this zipper had worked, I was otherwise pretty happy with the specs and design of the tent. Easy to set up, and the extra little packing bag with straps was satisfying and handy. If you’re not in urgent need of a tent I’d say you should take a chance on this one, but be mindful of the rain fly zippers. And don’t store anything in the upper side pockets that will hurt when it falls down on you. =]

Worked wekk
I love how small this tent breaks down for the size that it is. It has plenty of room for 2 and I can easily sit up without hitting my head the vestibules are a little small compared to some of my other tents but they still have enough room to keep a 75l pack underneath them leaving enough room to crawl in and out. My first night in it it withstood a thunder storm with 45 mph wind I was dry and the tent wasnt damaged.

Not very waterproof
This tent is nice as it’s in a more affordable price range however our tent smelled like an old fish when we opened it up and upon airing it out outside it ended up raining so I went out to see how it held in rain. The whole floor is damp and you can see where water soaked through part of the rain fly. So disappointed. Also doesn’t come it’s a footprint and the tub of the tent has an odd texture for a tent. Sad as this is supposed to be a great brand and I love there other products. Hopefully an additional coat of waterproofed does the trick as I waterproofed it once. (Did not waterproof the floor didn’t think you would need to. I was wrong) also this was not a torrential downpour it was just steady rain.

Great value
Used it 4 times so far. No complaints. Easy to set up and pack. Poles feel wonky but they are just curved in an unusual way. The whole deal is study. Seems are taped.

A Little Heavy for Backpacking But Overall Great
Bought this tent before a camping trip in Alaska. Worked great and stayed dry the entire time
