Missing information & safety concerns
I have been a avid cyclist for over 40 years but if my memory serves me correctly, I have never had to change a seat post until now. The carbon seat post on my beloved FELT hybrid failed. I purchased this seat post basically because I liked the looks of it. Upon attempting to install the post to my saddle, I soon found that this seat post is not compatible with my saddle. Oddly enough, the front bolt can only be accessed from the top of the seat post. You MUST have a split-top saddle if you want to use this seat post. This information should be posted on the site with the specs.I also have some safety concerns with the design of the top of this seat post. Note the first picture showing gap between the top of the seat post and the arched metal piece. This places unwanted/unnecessary force on the front and rear of the carbon seat post - clearly, the load is not evenly distributed. Note also that this is the same area of of the seat post where the hex bolts penetrate the carbon - there is NO metal reinforcement in this area. If there is a failure of this seat post, I would expect that it would be in this unreinforced area. Returning this product to Amazon. Post Script - I went to my friendly local bike shop (LBS) and purchased a Thomson Elite seat post-made in the USA.The second photo shows the web address of this company. Going to the site indicates, in Chinese, that the site is under construction.

Not as light as I expected and the seat mount system little inconvenient. Other than that so far so good.
I have recently purchased a new full suspension MTB and needed to shed some weight. The seat post it came with was little too long and heavy.I have bought two of these because the price is very good compared to other option. Here is what you need to know:- The seat mount system little inconvenient. What I mean by that is that the front adjustment bolt can be only really adjusted before putting the seat on, so you need to figure out the angle and adjust the bolt before you put the seat on. Only the rear bolt can be tightened once the seat is on and this only allows for forward and backward adjustment but not angle.- Not as light as one might expect. The carbon walls are pretty think, which is probably a good thing but this means at the cost of weight. Still lighter than my aluminum.- Pay attention to the length of the seat post. If it is too long it can be cut down but be careful and wear gloves as there are some carbon fibers inside sticking out. What I like:- Lighter than my aluminum post.- Seems sturdy so far. I will update if it breaks.- Color is not bad either.Shortcomings:- I wish mounting system was more on a traditional side with both bolts adjusting from the bottom.- I wish the maker offered shorter post.- It could be lighter. Not sure why walls are this thick.- I wish the inside did not have any rough fibers sticking out.I would buy it again as overall it seems like a good value and would recommend it as well as you can live with the shortcomings listed above.

I would look elsewhere....
I originally bought for my spare bike. I was hoping it was of decent quality, but i was very disapointed. This This is your typical chinese copy carbon seatpost. the design is a rip off of the thomson seatpost (where the seatpost head clamps onto the seat. The construction of the 27.2 tube itself is pretty solid. its made of a 3k carbon fiber weave. I was only able to install the seat to my bike, but did not ride because of a few things (the bad):1. the bottom C plate is what enables the cant of the seat does not cradle and made up correctly to the seatpost. It should theoretically fit snug into the cradle. As seen in the picture i uploaded, it doesnt fit in completely. this causes pressure points on the outter and inner sections of the carbon it sits on and will cause premature fracturing.2. because of reason #1, the carbon in the two pressure points started cracking. i tightened to two screws to 2nm (very light) and it already showed signs of fracturing....

scary cheap | also it broke
I saw the pictures of the bottom part of the clamp not lining up but I ordered it anyway thinking that someone else must have just gotten a bad one. NOPE, mine is like that too. In addition, the barrel nut that the front bolt threads in to isn't as big as the hole that it sits in.That said, there aren't many 31.6 seatposts with 25mm setback. I got it to test out fit before getting a better Ritchey seatpost.UPDATE- it broke 1.5 miles into my first ride. The barrel nut somehow came out. I am not sure if the bolt broke or what. The carbon is intact.

it' a $30 post, not cosmetically perfect
I got this to add a little more compliance to the seat on my hard tail. This was a functional purchase, not a cosmetic purchase. I don't ride with all my weight on the seat, never bent a post or seat rail and don't think I'll wreck if the post has a catastrophic failure. so I went cheap. The aluminum hardware is standard post hardware nothing good or bad, just works like it should. I have always preferred this seat hardware style to others. the post rocker diameter is a bit smaller so the hardware rocker doesn't seat fully until tightened down. the dowel nut hole is oversized and the dowel nut is not centered in the hole. the scale silk screen is slightly off center. it measures 27.2 diameter. The carbon post itself looks and feels well made and the entire thing does look good from 4+ feet away. kinda suspect these are the posts that don't pass cosmetic QC.It provides a noticeable amount of flex just pushing down on the seat with my hands against 35psi tires.initial ride is smoother. as long as it doesn't fail with normal riding I recommend it. I'll update when it fails if it does.So far so good.approx 50 mile of trail so far. I can feel the post flex over bumps when I ride fully seated like having about 3/4" suspension travel. just enough to take the edge off. running 30 psi now and haven't pinch flatted yet
