Unless you completely shower before you get in the hot tub every time, there will be body oils that get into the water. Over the course of several days, multiple people, that can be quite an accumulation. I struggled to keep our tub clean until I tried the Zorbie. This thing really works, up to 4-6 weeks. I see comments about the expense, and wonder what is it worth to you to go 8 months without having to replace the water? The expense is well worth it.

This product is amazing; it has reduced the amount of time I spend maintaining my hot tub by 75%. Since I put the sponge in there are no more oil lines and the hot tub is constantly balanced, so less use of chemicals needed.

I picked up the Zorbie Water Bobble Hot Tub Oil & Scum Absorber for my hot tub. It floats in the skimmer, quietly absorbing oils, lotions, and skin debris before they form that nasty film or odor. According to the maker, it uses ion-exchange technology to reduce odor and foaming by targeting surface contaminants. Hopefully it holds up.

We are new to hot tubs, and are loving ours. However we apparently did what many do and had a bit too much soap in the wash for our suits, and the tub started foaming while the jets are on... Spoke to the dealer and our local pool/spa retail store and they said use much less soap (we did) and use a foam reducer (we used Leslies) which will temporarily reduce the foaming until the water is swapped. We did this and it worked OK, but after about 30 minutes the foaming increased. Not horrible, but not a real fix... Some more research led to Zorbie, the product and the company. Said what the heck and bought one and put it in the filter box a month ago... Basically forgot about it. Today went to rinse out the filters and remembered the Zorbie! Hadn't really realized it, but over the coarse of the month the foaming reduced until now its basically gone. Just purchased another one to replace the first. The Zorbie worked just as advertised, really recommend if you have a foaming issue you want to resolve, but it does take a few weeks to a month to work so patience is required.

Actually works well! Give it a try- let it do its thing until it starts sinking, and then check out how nasty it is. Just don’t squeeze it- that’ll destroy it and get all the yuck everywhere.

Meh. Not worth the cost. It's no different than any others sponges, well other than price. Do not recommend.
