ACME Burger Patty Maker is great!!!
This patty maker is unbelievably inexpensive and doesn't look like anything special, but believe me, it works amazingly well. I buy ground beef in bulk, make my burgers ahead and freeze them. Using the ACME Burger Patty Maker, I wrap a piece of plastic wrap around the top part with the handle, and use the piece of plastic wrap I'm going to freeze the burger in for the bottom. I can finish wrapping the burger while it's still in the press, and it releases easily from the press. The burgers are perfectly round, about 4.5 inches in diameter, hold together well and freeze well. Thickness depends on how hard you press down.~This little gadget cuts my burger-making time time in thirds and makes cleanup a breeze. It is well made of a heavy-duty, sturdy white plastic, and the handle is large. It's light weight and easy to store. Love this gadget!!! Wish I had bought it years ago.

so glad I bought this!
This item works great - making a pile of burgers is easy now and they all come out the same size. a tip: line the bottom piece with plastic wrap for easy removal and for ease of separating frozen patties later.

The Product Description Totally Lies!
When I got this product, the first thing I noticed is the size of it. The product description specifically says "Makes a hamburger patty that's approximately 5.5 inches in diameter" which is a TOTAL LIE. The patties are really about 4 inches in diameter, which really makes me mad, because I specifically wanted something at least 5 inches, which is a BIG difference, because the patty is about 30% less in size than the description claims. Also, the base is pretty shallow, less than 3/4 of an inch, so these patties are more like sliders when cooked. Be sure to use plastic wrap between the base and the burger meat when making patties, otherwise, the patties will stick inside of the base and you'll tear them up just trying to get them out. Overall, the product is functional and cheap, but if I had known how small it was, I never would have bought it. 2 out of 5 stars is probably better than it deserves...

A little flimsy
Makes the perfect size burger. I don't know how long it will last because the handle feels like it's going to break when I'm pressing down on it to form a patty. It's pretty inexpensive so buying another one is always a possibility.

Simple, easy to use and clean
This patty maker is not the most robust or heavy duty however, it works fine. I advise to make sure there is something underneath it, such as a plate, while making patties because the little holes in the bottom allow juices to come out. I would recommend.

This has made making burgers so much easier. I took the advice of others and used wax paper between it and the meat. It makes clean up a breeze and my burgers come out great. We use this to pre-make some patties and freeze them for future use. I also found it really easy to use when making black bean burgers. Overall, a great inexpensive tool that makes life a little easier.

Disappointed by inaccurate description
I was looking for a tool to make 5.5 inch patties. The description for this item says it makes 5.5 inch patties. It does not. The patty diameter is 4.25 inches. Even the overall diameter is not 5.5 inches (it's only 5.125"). I have no doubt that it is an adequate tool for making smaller patties.Correct the inaccurate description.

It works
This is my second pair, for my other house. I never liked the pre-made burger so I want a cheap patty maker. It works, and I make patties every other week. I use cling wrap to make easy to take the patty off the mold.
