Argee RG191/25 Brick Guides, Black

Bought to make a tiny patio at the bottom of our deck stairs to avoid bringing dirt etc, upon the deck, Pretty simple to use. Probably will buy more to do other areas around the yard. Lay them out, build a frame, add sand, level sand, put these on top, add your bricks, bind it all together with some Polymeric Sand. Plus you'l know exactly how many bricks to buy.

Used these to make a great looking brick patio. If you’ve ever tried to lay brick pavers on a sand base, you know that getting all the mortar lines straight in both directions is challenging. But, not with these plastic patterns. Individually, they’re pretty flimsy, but it really doesn’t matter. They keep the bricks in perfect alignment until the mortar dries and you start enjoying your beautiful brick patio.

We used all of the laying guides but they did not work as well as laying guides that originally came with the bricks we purchased many years ago. The bricks would move out of position within the laying guides. In the older ones, there were plastic guides (within each guide) for each brick which made it easier when putting in mortar. For someone making a new patio these would work just fine but we had to stay within a specific area. The size of the bricks (marked on the laying guide) were the same but the size of the laying guides (from the originals) were different and had to be cut.

Worked great! We had to cut for the edge where only two were needed so it was a bit flimsy with no lip on the edge we had to cut but overall...worked well. I noticed other comments that mention it being a bit too small for the brick but you need to press the brick down! They are a snug fit!

Our old brick patio had traditional brick of 8 1/2" length and 4" width. This product does not work with such brick. Although the product description gives the total dimensions of the patio pal guides, it does not indicate the required brick sizes. Be sure you have bricks more on the order of 7 1/2" long and 3 3/4" wide.Anyhow needing these, I have about 10 packs.

This is a neat little product. The grids are a little flimsy, but are weighted down by your bricks. Be sure to use a good base for the project. I used a rock base product and a foam pad type base from Home Depot. I also used their landscape edging once I had everything fitted together. The brick pavers don't fit exactly into the grid - there's a little wiggle room to line up the grout lines. I also used polymeric grout and followed the directions. I think this will last a long time. Bottom line: read the directions and follow them. This product sure beats trying to perfectly line up the bricks on their own.

The plastic is so cheap and flimsy that I'm not sure it's worth using. Why not just put some bricks down without it? I will give it a try and if it's better that I suspect I will upgrade my rating.

These definitely helped building a patio in my back yard, while the project was not easy having these little guys really did make things less complicated. You are still going to have to buy 2x4s, sand, bricks and mortar, but I expected that. My mother, daughter and I were able to build a solid patio that looks good, with no previous experience at all. Patio Pals help line up your bricks, everything else is up to you, including making sure you have the right bricks. I used one as a test and bought the rest based on that.

I thought I could use these as a layout guide, then move them to the next section. What wasn't explained was the fact that these are PERMANENT and once set, to never be moved as they are also a weed blocker... I did not know that when I bought these...
