Background: I am 26 years old and have a long history of acne. I've struggled with mild to severe acne since I was 12 and I've tried just about everything out there, both prescriptions and over-the-counter treatments. As an adult, it's lessened in severity but I still have frequent breakouts, especially around the time of my menstrual cycle.I've been using this clearing gel for about 6 months now. My skin isn't perfect by any means, BUT this is probably the only product I've ever found that consistently manages my acne and keeps it under control. My routine consists of this gel along with Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buffing Beads face wash, which is amazing. I also use a very hydrating moisturizer so my skin doesn't yet too dried out. (I use Pur Minerals Soak It Up Intense Hydrating Moisturizer.)Before I started using this gel, I had two slightly deep lines/wrinkles in my forehead that are now almost completely gone. They didn't disappear over night by any means, but from using this gel every day for the past 6 months, they have significantly improved. So if you're looking for something for wrinkles that will work fast, I wouldn't recommend this product. But if you're younger and want something for preventative aging, along with acne control, I would highly recommend this product.

i used to use this product a few years back when i was trying to get my skin clear for my wedding. i thought it worked just okay i wasnt too impressed. than i got pregnant and my skin was so sensitive so i quit using the product. now 3 years later i have been having ALOT of hormonal and cystic type acne so i thought that maybe ill give it another try and boy am i so glad i did!!! it took about a month for it to completely clear up all my acne. i was actually get discouraged cause my skin wasnt getting any better. just give it a month or so and you will be very pleased with the results. i use it twice a day. i put a thin layer over my entire face under my make up and at night again i rub it all over my face but a little thicker. it doesnt dry out my skin as i have very oily skin. ive had it for a month and use alot and i havent even put a dent in the bottle. also i will mention i originally bought it at sephora for 54 bucks and than 3 years later found it on amazon for 31 bucks! cant beat that! it has def. become a staple in my every day skin care routine! so glad i gave it a second chance!

I have been using this product about 2X a day for the last 2 weeks and have noticed a change in my skin after only a few days. I have had acne since I was about 12 and no product has really helped in 17 years ( oily t zone with large pores and blackheads-very prone to breakouts, typically around nose/cheek/chin). while this has not fixed my acne 100%, it has helped the overall appearance of my skin(no new breakouts other than a few whiteheads that have gone away in a few hours) so much that I haven't felt the need to wear much makeup(yes!!!). my skin hasn't been breaking out very much and my skin appears more even and much smoother. the fact that I don't feel the need to layer concealer/foundation is great because that could help with preventing breakouts in the future. maybe perfect skin isn't in the cards for me, but this is the first product I have ever used where I saw results and made me feel good about my skin. this is also the first time I have ever bothered posting a review for any skin product, so that must be saying something.

I usually use some type of salicylic acid product for my face at night bc even though I'm in my 30s, I have oily skin and am prone to breakouts. There was another product I liked, but it is technically only for spot treatment and in a much smaller tube, even though I used it all over my face anyways. I like PTR much better. It is thin and spreads very well, so you don't need much. Therefore, I think this will last me much longer than if I bought the equivalent amount in the other product. It was slightly drying at first, and I used it every other night to get used to it. I can use it most nights in a row now, and if I notice my skin feeling too dry in the morning, I'll switch and use the PTR acne moisturizer that night instead. Great line of products!

I've used this PTR product for about 3 years and my acne has substantially reduced to occasional breakouts on my forehead.In my teenage years, I tried several rounds of antibiotics and even accutane, which did help and my acne subsided for several year.But several years ago I started to have stuborn breakouts again and as an adult, that is really embarassing!My skin response well to the salicylic acid in this product, but you do have to find a balance NOT to dry out your skin too much as that would aggrevate the acne even more. To balance out, I use the Vitaville argan oil, which has amazing healing and anti-inflammatory properties. I know, it's kind of scary of thinking to use an oil when having acne, but this oil has been used by maroccan women for centuries. Beside this PTR product and the argan oil, I also do once a week a fruit peel, which helps to slug off dead skin cell so that all the products really penetrate into the skin rather than sitting on the surface.

I was recommended this product from a friend. So far it has worked great. I have adult acne, so I am frustrated and willing to try anything. I have gone to the Dr, tried acid peels, everything you can think of, I have tried. This hasn't completely taken away my acne, but has reduced it, ALOT. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is, that it dried my skin out. I have oily skin, so for it to dry out, and peel my skin, it gives you an idea of how strong this product is. But I found a good moisturizer and, problem gas gone away. I recommend this product to anyone suffering from Acne.
