Excellent product
Product is exactly as described and works very well. The adhesive stays in place and, most importantly, does not leave marks or a rash. The clasp works very well and is easy to lock and unlock. Been using this product for my father for a year and a half with no issues. Delivery is always prompt. Thank you.Update: The product has changed and is using a new adhesive. This does NOT stick at all. We are going through 2 to 3 a week now when we were using 1 per week. Will start looking for an alternative.

Most important component NOT USABLE!
Received product in timely manner per Amazon. When needed to apply device found the critical skin prep pads were all dried out. This is critical for cleaning and more importantly overall adhesion of Statlock device. Item expiration dates in 2021 for pads but apparently they have been stored in an environment which dried them out. I only hope the stabilization device adhesive works long enough to get some "RELIABLE" and "USABLE" skin prep pads!!

Comfortable and Easy to Use
This is a great product for securing a urinary catheter to the thigh. It adheres well to the skin without irritation, and it is easy to attach and remove the catheter tube as needed. It provides a stable support for the catheter and comfortably removes the load from the entry point. The patch is easily removed from the skin with alcohol and does not leave any marks.

Problem
I bought two for my husband's Catheter. The item was suggested by the Dr.Two R.N. applied the Bard Statlock. By morning both had broken. The plastic holder hadbroken away from the part that was glued to his leg.I asked the Dr. to review the manner that they were attached. The doctor said it was connected correctly, but was faulty. just broke away. We think it was defective. Not sure I would try this again.

NOT MEDICAL ADVISE BUT JUST MY EXPERIENCE
My husband had to use a catheter for a while and the home care folks, didn't want to replace, even though they placed it in a place that didn't really work well. They mentioned that they were super expensive. Well, I found these at a fantastic price and they have worked out great. Just a note: The yellow tube which goes from this patch to body can get twisted under the little clamp, so this needs to be checked frequently. Also, the little knobby parts and get turned over and dig into the skin. Plus the clamp rotates (which can be a good thing under certain circumstances) to turn this way and that, so you can see how this could get twisted. (The yellow tubing is very soft and pliable). So, I used Kinesiology Tape (which I had on hand for muscle support, etc.) and put 2 or three strips on the skin under the area where tubing knobs, etc have possibility of turning toward the skin. I didn't realize this, until I found an open wound under one of the knobby things at the connection. The clear tubing gets twisted in all type of ways, when moving it, etc and that can make the softer yellow tube turn. Without the protective tape, or a few large band aids, these knobs can dig into skin and make a wound. Plus, sometimes (almost all the time) I don't want the clamp to go around around in circles, so I put some tape to hold it still, to keep it from crimping the soft yellow tubing. . Please don't consider this medical advise...just from experience, I use this method for us and don't recommend to anyone. You can decide.

Doesn't fit a 20 Fr silicone
This did not hold a 20 Fr silicone catheter with tubing in place. The end of the silicone catheter would fit fine, but once you attach the tip of the tubing (which is rigid plastic) of the collection bag into the graduated end of the softer catheter, the top of the securing device pops off and does not stay in place. We had to improvise and just put only the tinier tubing (with the port where the balloon is inflated) into the stat lock securing part. This works ok for now but I wish they made a wider securing device to fit the entire Y into the plastic stat lock, as he will need the catheter for the next 6 weeks. Or the manufacturers of the silicone catheters should just make the Y of the silicone catheters longer.

Works perfectly. Exact same product used in hospitals. Highly recommend
These are exactly what are used in hospitals & work perfectly with most catheter tubing. The larger adhesive area makes for easy placement & the snap closed locking device has yet to fail (even with a few wardrobe issues). Highly recommend. But I will add 2 suggestions to add to convenient use. To ensure less 'pain' for those who have sensitive inner thighs (neuropathy, fibro, etc), position where you'll be securing the adhesive -- then clamp the tubing PRIOR to removing the wax paper from the adhesive area -- then remove the wax paper and attach to thigh area. This will greatly reduce the pressure/possible pain associated with the clamping process if you were to adhere the product first (trust me, hospital staff stuck it to the leg first then clamped and you really do NOT want to feel that pain/pressure after you're already dealing with the insertion pain of the catheter). Also, when removing it says to 'use alcohol'. Well, the small alcohol patch like sheets just don't do the trick for such a large adhesive area. I highly suggest soaking a paper towel or wash cloth in rubbing alcohol and gently massaging the edges of the adhesive section while removing. Do NOT use 'goo be gone', as it is NOT the area of the body where you want to take a risk of the chemical getting into your body...plus it will all but ruin your catheter tubing.

Latch does not hold
this could be a great product if they would just fix the latching mechanism. it pops open and then your catheter is just hanging there. I have found that if you break off a toothpick in the latch part then close it it will stay closed. It is still 100% better than any of the Velcro ones. hope this helps in your decision making.
