LAST HARDCOVER 🏴☠️ And it’s mine… Mine all mine…
I only read one page.It was so triggering I gave the book away. Then it was recommended on Amazon. Cuz Bezos is listening too. I clicked through to find 1 Hardcover left!Well, I know little about Dave Navarro, but I do know that nothing he does should be produced in “paperback.”So, I scooped it up. It’s still in the packaging. Tempting me. But it’ll probably need a thorough smudging. For the majority of his career, Dave Navarro was not on this Rock Journalists radar. No shame…. Shame never saved anyone. He is NOW and for that I couldn’t be more pleased.Dave has stories. I’m not sure what he hasn't done. I can’t even dream up what he has. He is a phenomenally gifted writer who gets his hands dirty in all he does. I don’t need to read the book to know it’s exceptional. If it weren’t, it wouldn’t be published.Neil Strauss is an icon in his own right. Excellent collab.I hope we’ll be seeing at least one more book from Dave in the future. 🖤

3 alternative names for this book1. I was bored, so I did drugs2. I did so much drugs, my dealer broke up with me3. People are ruining my lifeActually, as you approach the end, the book explains itself (spoiler)"This book is about a drug addict who has negative beliefs about life and buys a photo booth to prove and document those beliefs. But in the process he comes to learn that many of his beliefs are inaccurate and gets sober."And then, in the end, we throw in some love story, that we all know (ok, wikipedia says) doesn't really have a happy ending. So some of it loses meaning. The rest, however, paints a good picture of self-destructive activities, pretending to be wise while high, and trying to get people to sit around and listen to you.Not bad, really. Thanks for sharing).

Great book especially if you’re a Navarro fan
I loved this book. I’ve been a fan for decades. If you’re a Dave Navarro fan, you’ll love it! The pictures are kind of hard to make out, but the pictures are less interesting than the story. I expected it to be the other way around. I got the hardcover because I heard that the soft cover doesn’t have all of the pictures. Very interesting stories in there from one hell of a year!

What I expected, sort of.
All I wanted from this book was to find out whether or not Navarro is an idiot. He is not. However, the author is so so and the editor is out to lunch. In between rampant spelling errors, syntax mistakes, repeated blocks of text and poor punctuation, is one year in the life of Dave Navarro. Tantrums, ODs, freaks, dealers, paranoia and bewildered bystanders; if you`'re looking for something new in here, you won`t find it. The book does fly by as it`s jammed with pix from Dave`s photo booth. If you`'re a fan of his, read it. You won`t like most of it, due to the rampant drug use, and the latter part, when Dave makes a success of rehab, this part of his life is basically skimmed over. This book is not a triumph.

Excellent Read!!
This book basically tells a year in the life of Dave Navarro. I found it to be an extremely easy read with a lot of pictures in-between chapters. So for those diehard fans of his looking to learn a few interesting unknown facts about him it's a good book to do so with. It doesn't give you information about him from his childhood till now however, so if that is what you are looking for this is not the book for you. It is very detailed in what he has to say so it is not for the "faint-at-heart" I will give you that. Also, I wouldn't suggest it for young teens because of the content in it unless the parent reads it first and okays it. I am not one for censorship so if I had a teen child I wouldn't mind letting them read it, but to each their own. Other than that I thought it was very well written and it kind of shocked me on a few things about him that I just never knew about him. I guess we really don't know all there is to know about celebrities regardless of what the media gives us.

AWESOME!
A MUST read in my opinion! I found this book to be strangely inspirational. This book is very graphic and reveals some very crazy stuff, giving insight into the real version of rock and roll stars, Dave Navarro is an amazing musician, and with this book, it has shown people what the rock and roll lifestyle does to people. Instead of being depressing ( like other books about people who use) I found it quite entertaining and often funny. Dave is actually intelligent and insightful. The year long look into his life gives readers many positives. I read this book in one day and i could NOT put it down!Reading this book it has helped me understand Dave Navarro as a individual, musician, artist and etc. I respect him so much more now that I read this book! Read this book if you want to understand him more!. I seriously HIGHLY recommend this book, it is a great read trust me.

A Good Insight Into the Life of a Rock Star Addict
This dude was out of his mind on drugs, and it was interesting to see the life of an addict from the inside. The writer was at Dave's house all the time with all the crazy visitors coming in and out and taking pictures in the photo booth. I would have liked to have seen captions in the photo booth pictures to say who all the people were.Dave's actually a really intelligent guy and always interesting, even when he was high all the time. This is worth reading, and it's inspirational at the end.

Trust No One

Not a fan
The bulk of the book was him brooding about life and rambling, did not like the pieced together format either with interviews spliced in between different random stories. Maybe it was his subject, but I've read much better by Strauss.
