Very Good no more mess and waste does exactly what it says, My husband is well pleased as he is the one using it. I gave it 4 stars but only because its no good for arthritic hands.

A great slicer
It produces a thinner slice which is nice. Easier to use then some I have had before.

Getting to the core of things
The media could not be loaded. This is a handy kitchen gadget for slicing up your pineapple, priced at £5.25. quick and easy to use. The only issue I had was when removing, it was a little tough as it created a vacuum effect but with gentle manaevouring it came out in one segment. Slice the top of your pineapple, centre it and twist handle to core the fruit. There is a measurement guide on the side and this is to help you stop before bottom of pineapple if you want the shell to remain intact, just stop one number below the pineapple measurement. Press the button and rotate in opposite direction to remove fruit from bottom and pull upright. There is two small notches on side which you push in and release the handle to remove the fruit away from the slicer. Nice uniform slices made with ease.

Good for perfect pineapple rings
This pineapple corer is a bit of an odd gadget. My family only eat pineapples occasionally but if you eat them regularly this could be a useful gadget. It is fairly easy to use and allows you to remove the skin and core as well as creating a continuous coil of pineapple flesh which you can then easily slice to make rings if you want. The materials used in this tool seem to be very good quality and it is sturdy feeling when used yet quite lightweight. The pieces are easy to wash and the handle can be separated from the main shaft in order to clean inside it. The handle is comfortable to use.The issue I have with this is that, of course, it is only one size so it will not fit every pineapple perfectly. I tried it on a fairly small pineapple and it ended up cutting through the skin and taking some of the flesh away with the core.Another problem I had was that, with a smaller pineapple where the blades can cut through the skin, it is quite dangerous as you have to hold the pineapple to push/rotate the tool through it.Overall I would say that this is nice for creating perfect even rings of pineapple but is actually more fiddly and time consuming than simply cutting with a knife, especially when you factor in the time to take it apart and clean it. So if you don't mind your pineapple cut a bit wonky, I would give this a miss.

Well built, works fine but a couple of caveats
So this does the job fine. It seems to be well built and looks nice.In practice it works well as long as you're careful how you use it:First of all you want to make sure your pineapple isn't too big otherwise you'll have wastage. You also don't want it too small otherwise you're going to get rind round the edges of your rings. I think this is designed for quite small pineapples anyway. Imagine trying to fit a tin of pineapple rings inside the pineapple you're buying as a guide to the size you need.Secondly, you need to make sure the slicer is perfectly aligned with the core otherwise it will cut at an angle and you'll end up getting rind on one side.On the side of waste, I don't think it's actually too bad, sure you can't adjust to the pineapple being wider in the middle than at the top and bottom, but since it cuts in a perfect circle, you might actually gain a bit vs the inaccurate, flat cuts you might do with a knife. I think that the convenience/speed also makes up for that, not to mention that you don't have lots of bits to clear up afterwards.Given those two things, I think it works well. It takes a little bit of effort but just remember to use the ratchet instead of trying to turn it or the pineapple in full circles.
