Flipper's New Adventure

Both the original “Flipper” and “Flipper’s New Adventure” are five star movies in my book. I think the original is better because it is more meaningful and down to earth. But “Flipper’s New Adventure” carries on the magic and surreal charm, as well as worthwhile insights into the mind and heart of a boy. In “New Adventure”, Sandy Ricks is good-natured and caring, but still immature enough to run away from home when things don’t go his way, and short-sighted enough to put his own unrealistic wishes over the critical needs of others. But the power of puppy love guides our sea-faring ‘Huck Finn’ on the path to manhood and even heroism. The ‘Guardian Angel’ shtick on the deserted island was very funny. The producers of “Flipper” must have felt their own Guardian Angel smiling down the moment ‘Teen Tarzan’ Luke Halpin walked in for his audition.

Brought back great times as a kid. Thanks for this movie.__________And I had totally forgot that a VERY young Lady Jessica (Ms. Annis) played Gwen. The spice must flow.

When I was a kid, my parents had recorded this from TV on a VHS tape. It was one of my favorite movies. It had probably been about 30 years since I had last seen it when for some reason it poppped into mind. After checking all the usual suspects (netflix, hulu, etc) for it, I ended up seeing that it was available for sale on Amazon. I quickly jumped on it and watched that very night.I grant you, my high rating is not without a heavy influence of nostalgia, but I was surprised to find that it wasn't as cheesy as I had expected (not to imply that there weren't cheesy moments). Film quality was decent considering when it was filmed and the overall story still holds up today.I'm not sure if kids watching it for the first time today would enjoy it as much as I did back in the 80s, but it's pretty hard not to love a dolphin!

If you are looking for good clean family viewing, this is it!If you have ever had a pet that loved and protected you, then you know what a best friend REALLY is!Flipper is first Sandy's best friend, in the movies. Then in the series he is Sandy's younger brother, Bud's, best friend. I was just 5 years old when the first Flipper movie came out and I was hooked for life! I bought Flipper season 1 several months ago because of MY love for it. I also knew that my 2 1/2 year old grandson, A.J., would love it. He watches it all the time, now I need more! The first Flipper movie and Flipper's New Adventure are on there way to us and my grandson will be SO happy! Flipper is a must for any family. It's good healthy entertainment that you just can't find in todays TV series'. The original movies and series are fantastic and not to be judged by remakes! With the new Flipper additions maybe A.J. will allow my other grandkids to borrow season one instead just watching it at my house. Flipper is the dolphin version of Lassie. You're never too old (or too young)to love these pets.My best friend was a dog my family already had when I was born, and he became mine.He protected me and loved me as much as I loved him! Flipper movies and the series are a must own!

I love dolphins. I have always watched Flipper on TV. I wanted to know how it all began. I enjoyed the movie. But, I thought it was slow.

I remembered this movie from when I was a kid! It's a great classic, good story line, and still fun to watch!
