Good quality punches, use them correctly
I've had several Tekton punches before, bought locally, and really they're pretty decent. Still marked made in the USA...I suspect maybe by Wilde or Enderes, which have both always put out good tooling. Tiny long punches like this 1/16" are comparatively delicate (all of them, even the highest quality ones) so keep that in mind and if your pins are particularly tight fitting, frozen, or rusted, then use a drop of penetrant and a center punch to get them started, then follow through with this one. That usually still works just fine with roll pins as it does with solid pins and is the smart approach to preventing punch heartache or scratched parts. If you're bending them you may be using them incorrectly and you have to keep in mind that with the smallest punches like this, they are supposed to bend rather than shatter (there is a good metallurgical reason for this and nobody sells small punches with a heat treatment that makes them extra hard/stiff...you don't have enough mass to accommodate it until you move up to larger sizes). The tip on these actually measures the same as the current Starrett, which is a hair over 1.5mm (.0597...1.516mm) rather than 1/16". If that matters to you you'll have to look elsewhere but it'll be hard hunt. Behind the tip, these are correctly and very slightly relieved for clearance (.0590) but less so than other brands...enough to help, though. Usable pin length is just shy of an inch (about 24mm). If you need more length and can do without the nib, the Gedore 1.5mm punch gives you about a quarter inch more to work with (30mm) and is an excellent punch (Starrett still being a bit better steel but also not offering any long pin punches below 1/8"). No reason not to recommend these punches from Tekton and the handful of others I've had have served very well...just use them smartly. It's nice that they will stand behind defective (or abused) punches the way they do...almost nobody else will do that...and still manage to keep the pricing low.

I was surprised by the bulk of this solid punch.
It's going to be close to impossible for this to break.I was a bit disheartened by the tool when I received it, as it was nicked in some corners. But, the hammer end and business end are both in great shape. I don't mind my tools being a little beat up, but it's weird that I get a brand new tool with those deformities. I'm marking one star off for poor shipping.

Incredible quality at an equally incredible price!
I work in aviation, and there is a specific component that my shop overhauls fairly regularly which requires the removal of some very (very!) stubborn pins and rivets. After *years* of just accepting that we were probably going to bend/break a tool or three during the process, I went out on a limb just last week and ordered three of these Tekton 3/32" pin punches to try out.I'll cut right to the chase and let you know that while I did bend one of them almost immediately, it was 100% my fault. You do still have to be extremely careful with these thin tools and I just wasn't. Using a little more care with a new one, I managed to remove every last piece of hardware from that part with just the one punch. The "business end" was starting to show a tiny bit of mushrooming toward the end of things, but I truly can't stress enough just how incredibly, horribly hard this specific job is on tools. The fact that a single punch managed to last through the entire evolution, and was only showing minor signs of wear upon completion, is all the evidence I need to know that Tekton punches will be replacing all of the existing ones in both my own tool box and the shop's box as well.I'd give them a sixth star if I could. In lieu of being able to do that, I bought a handful more to give to my crew for Christmas. :-)
