B&M80688 Console QuickSilver Automatic Shifter

This shifter worked great once I got it installed. But to get it installed I had to make some cuts to the mounting slots on the bottom. The mounting slots in the base didn't quite line up with the holes in the trans tunnel on my 1973 Camaro. I also bought the microswitches too for neutral safety and backup lamp (not included here) but this shifter doesn't actuate the switch lever far enough to switch reliably.

Its nice but the base plate isn't to sturdy, I had to cut into the floor board so the shift cable wouldn't kink, the instructions says to cut 1 inch. I had to cut 3 inches which I just hated to cut the floor board. The list of parts says the neutral safety switch is included but there is no safety switch in the kit but the factory safety switch is still functions. I believe the engineers who designed this shifter could have done a better design on the area where the cable locks into place at the shifter. But I went ahead and installed it and I`m ok with it.

Doesnt fit my car well. Had to fabricate parts to get this shifter to mount well and work with my car.

Shifter looks reat in teh center console of Z28 and clean appearance. but I installed this shifter and thought it was me that didn't know how to use the slap stick mode but now after speaking to B&M they feel the shifter is defective and it is beyond the 30 day return period. When going through the slap shift mode it takes two clicks and then when you think you will hit 3rd it goes into neutral resulting in another click BACK down to drive. I removed a pistol grip B&M for this bad shifter. B&M support said it was uncommon but doesnt sound like an installation issue as it down shifts and goes into park correctly.
