These little lights are excellent to use for small craft. The are small, lightweight, bright, and you can clip them on anywhere.I wanted a red/green and white headband I could wear when I rowed my little dinghy from the boat to shore. No one makes such a thing that I found. But I took these lights, and a standard white LED headband, and attached these red and green lights to the back of the strap with a couple plastic ties, red to port and green to starboard. They worked perfectly. Now I just slide these over my head and turn them on and, pesto! Instant nav lights. When I'm under motor power I slide the head band around so the green/red is in the front and white in the back.With the extra pair I'll keep as backups in the main nav light system goes down. Very handy. If I have problems with longevity I'll report later.Edit: Dropped from five stars to three stars as I learned these cute little lights are not water resistant, much less water proof. I had them in a zip lock bag with my LED head lamp and (unknown to me) a little bit of moisture got in the bag. LED head lamp handled it no sweat. These little green/red LEDs completely rusted out. The plastic/rubber cover should be able to handle some rain, but I imagine one good soaking with a wave or spray and they'll be toast. Something sold as even temporary nav lights for a boat should be a little more water resistant, if not water proof.

I bought these for moonlight kayaking. you can either secure them around the straps/bungees on the widest part of the kayak, or around the paddle on the appropriate sides. I prefer placing them on the paddles, especially when sharing the water with larger motorized boats that could easily miss the lights lower on the water. The lights moving up and down when you paddle, are more visible.These lights are very bright, and if you remember that port is red on left, and starboard is green on right. it is easy to place the lights correctly on your boat."Port and starboard are nautical terms for left and right, respectively. Port is the left-hand side of or direction from a vessel, facing forward. Starboard is the right-hand side, facing forward."The extra batteries are a great bonus! I borrowed similar lights and was pleased with the visibility, and bought this package for myself because of it's terrific value.

These little lights are absolutely perfect for my sculling shell. I row in the early morning, sometimes before the sun comes up and these are bright, lightweight and easy to attach to the rigger of my boat. The multiple options of blinking fast, slow or continuous light is a bonus. You really can't beat the price on these, especially since they come with extra batteries which, if you bought separately, probably would exceed the cost of the set of lights!!

These work great for my son's boat in San Diego Bay. He is a teenager and has a small fishing boat and is constantly ruining lights. The ones we were buying were like $30-$50 and getting corroded etc. He said these lights are bright enough and work great and hook on easily. Plus for the price, I don't mind looking at them like they are disposable!

These lights are wonderful things. They attache easily to posts, boat rails, and handlebars. They don't like moisture very much, and tend to fail when bounced around, like on the forward rail of my boat. But for the price, they work reasonably well, and are bright as can be.

Great product not only for larger vessels but for kayak lights as well. My girlfriend and I like to do a lot of nighttime kayak fishing and these lights help keep us safe and visible out on the water. Very bright and effective. Christmas Lights 2 Green & 2 Red Portable Marine LED Boating Lights - I bought these lights to use on our fleet of kayaks as easy and portable bow lights ffor use during night paddles. They are very bright and easy to attach. When put on correctly, they stay attached. But beware--they do not float for more than a few seconds if you drop one in the water. The batteries are replaceable, so they are capable of a long useful life. They made it very easy to see the boats clearly across the lake. I also intend to use them as back-up bow lights for my sailboat.
