I've been using Shea Moisture, specifically the curly hair line, for over a decade now. I switched over to this after learning that my hair needs protein! I have naturally thick, coarse, curly hair that breaks CONSTANTLY. I seem to generate split ends and breakage like it's my job. Anyways, I tried the mask AND the leave-in conditioner and woke up to the best hair day I've had in years. I am now going to incorporate the leave-in as my first step in styling after my shower. The order is: leave-in conditioner, curl cream, curl gel, and a curl mousse. I am planning on using the leave-in on my ends depending on how quickly I start to see breakage and split ends. So far, SO GOOD!

My hair was severely damaged by a so-called professional who over processed it to the point that my hair was falling out, I’ve NEVER had that happen in my 60 years. I’ve always had an abundance of thick wavy/curly hair, somewhat on the dry side, but never damaged. I’ve always taken good care of my hair, no harsh products, no blow drying, etc. After the damage, the ends, what was left of them, felt like mush when wet and the rest was a limp frizzy mess that had no bounce to the natural curl. After a few deep conditioning treatments with the SheaMoisture Manuka Honey and Yogurt repair kit my hair has finally gotten back to a healthy state, the bounce is back, it’s both super soft and strong. It’ll take years to grow back the hair I lost, it feels like 1/4 to a 1/3 is gone which is very terrifying and infuriating, but at least what I have left seems okay now. The product was just the right combination of protein and moisture.

I’m sure the product works great but I couldn’t get past the smell. This brand typically has great smelling products and quality stuff. Something about the smell of this one was not to my liking.
