X-men Trilogy Uhd+dhd [Blu-ray] Review: Two great, one good film. - Superb collection, even though thecthird is the weakest of the three. Great visuals and sound. Review: AN ACTION-PACKED TRILOGY (4K EXCELLENCE) - For myself, films like these are why we invest in 4k technology, with awesome special-effects (CGI) in all three films in the trilogy, certainly worth owning on this format. Key cast includes - Charles Xavier / Professor X (Patrick Stewart) Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto (Ian McKellen) Storm (Halle Berry) Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) Rogue (Anna Paquin) Cyclops (James Marsden) Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos ) Toad (Ray Park) Senator Robert Kelly (Bruce Davison) Colonel William Stryker: (Brian Cox) Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast (Kelsey Grammer) Juggernaut (Vinnie Jones) Pyro (Aaron Stanford ) Shadowcat (Ellen Page) From Marvel Comics - In the first of the trilogy we learn that once great friends Charles Xavier and Magneto now stand some distance apart in their strategies toward the so-called normal occupants of Earth, Charles wants to forge understanding, Magneto seems set on confrontation. Early on Logan (Wolverine) is attacked in his truck along with hitch-hiker Rogue by Magneto's minions but are saved by Cyclops and Storm and are taken to Xavier's school. Charles believes that Wolverine was the target and wants to investigate. However, Magneto will capture his real target eventually intending to use her as a weapon against World leaders. Wolverine, Storm and Cyclops attempt to save Rogue and prevent Magneto's plans.... In the second after an attack on the White House military scientist William Stryker convinces the president to investigate Xavier's Mutant School. Stryker's forces attack the school taking many of the student's prisoner, Colossus leads some to safety while Logan, Rogue, Iceman and Pyro escape. Meanwhile, shape-shifter Mystique helps Magneto to escape from jail. Strangely Magneto who learns of Stryker's intent to kill all Mutants will tell Logan and the team of Stryker's compound, a place that holds memories of the past for Wolverine. The race is on to rescue the captured students and prevent Stryker from achieving his aim. The team will struggle to get away from disaster after achieving their task and only the apparent self-sacrifice by Jean will help them escape the threatened territory. In the third, it emerges that the development of an Inoculation to suppress the X-Gene that give the Mutants their power has been developed, Magneto will gather his forces and more to go to war with the Government. Meanwhile, Scott travels to the lake where the love of his life had died saving her colleagues, however, Jean appears to Scott, but there is something different about her, Charles will have her placed in care and observation at the mansion. Jean unwittingly with extra powers will over-power Charles and indeed link-up with Magneto. The war begins, the government forces are no match against Magneto, Jean and his followers. In the spirit of Charle's memory, the few led by Wolverine will face Magneto in battle. Who will be lost? An action-packed trilogy well worth a second glance on the 4k format if you have access to it. Can Recommend the investment. Footnote - Other movies watched recently include - Mulan (2020) 9/10 (The best 'Live-remake' to date in my opinion) Plus two items reviewed on Blu-ray a while back - Concussion (4k) 9/10 Kong 'Skull Island' (4k) 8/10

Fixed 4K issue
I got this as the solo 4K of the 2nd film seems corrupted & won’t play This silver disc does so I think the issue is in the coloured discs

Great value.
Got this one very cheap - £6.50 I believe - can't argue with that for some decent super hero movies. The first movie sets everything up nicely, the 2nd movie is really excellent and expands on the universe. The 3rd is a bit of a misstep, but still very watchable, if not quite up to par with the other two. All films here are certainly a lot better than X-Men Origins Wolverine, so if you're not worried about having the full set of films, this set offers the best of the X-Men movies (other than X-Men First Class).

Stunning
As a HUGE X-men fan, i highly recommend this product for 2 reasons. 1. The films are all brilliant, although the third, much like Spiderman 3, tries to fit too much in. 2. Wolverine is VERY bad film and not worth having, so avoid the Quadrilogy box (Wolverine is just slapped in there as a slimline almost bonus disc rather than in a cool, well designed one like this) X-Men and X2 are the main reason to get this trilogy, both brought a seriousness and adult feel back to the superhero genre. The characters were well drawn, deep and very well acted and the story was engrossing on both parts - with the wolverine history subplot playing off very well and particularly in the second film (which, in my opinion surpassed the first in terms of quality, story and characters) against the main good vs. evil story lines in both films. X-Men 3 whilst still a decent film on it's own, does little to add to the trilogy, Wolverine's backstory is completely ignored, and the Dark Phoenix character who in my view is one of greatest anti-heros in any story ever written is given very little justice. The writers try to include too many characters giving non the screen time they deserve and subsequently the film suffers massively. It would have been better to be done as 2 or even three part story... Bluray wise, all films look truly phenomenal, picture quality is second to none and extras that are included could fill a library. Sound again, is slightly dampened on the third film for some reason, but i can't hold it against it. It's a very minor niggle that might just be me. Overall this is a 5/5 boxset for quality of bluray, it is an advert for why to get a bluray player, and how to do a bluray collection for any film or film series. The only reason i give this 4 stars is due to X-Men 3, which i feel lets the film series (not the bluray boxset itself) down. I would suggest just buy the first 2 films and ignore the third, however the cliffhanger ending to X2 means you need to get 3 anyway, and it's cheaper in this collection than buying them separately!

UHD film on blu ray
I just love watching movies on UHD blu ray disk. It is a great experience to put the disk in the player and watch it. I do not want to have my entire collection of films on UHD blu ray, but a part of them which I can watch over and over again. I have some blu ray disks with Danish movies which I own in HD quality. I have some movies I would like to have in UHD quality, movies like 2012, Pearl Harbor, Australia, Battle of Britain, Avatar, The day after tomorrow, Pompei, Amadeus and Dantes's peak, just to mention a few. I love to watch movies in UHD quality.

The movies are great fun, a bit preachy at times, but in a controlled relevant way. the X-Men were more or less a morality tale about tolerance from the beginning. So nothing new here. I like the fact it is three standard cases in a slipcover as opposed to slimline cases as when the slip cover goes it ruins the set. The movies look and sound great and there's tons of extras included. A great action series with strong characters and strong performances all around. Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan being the standouts among a stellar cast. This is a great way to own the movies at a reasonable price and if they make more movies in the series (aside from the spin-offs) then you can easily take out the discs and place them alongside the new additions. Unfortunately they all include a digital copy disc with codes that are expired. While that isn't a deal breaker for me I know people who love the fact they get the digital copies. I still think movies should all go to ultraviolet or at least make the digital copy a digital download, because once the code expires that disc is useless and simply just takes up too much room). Or the should include a dvd copy with the digital copy on the same disc, as other companies do. Sorry to vent, but the digital copy disc is something they should have done away with as soon as ultraviolet started. It's a waste of materials and for those who forget to read the really fine print on a dvd case it can be really annoying when you try to upload it. Also if you reformat your computer you may lose your authorization to play the movie as well. But, I digress, this is a great series, all of the movies in the series including First Class and the two Wolverine movies are excellent. Very well done. First Class didn't feel like a reboot as much as it was just a prequel. It didn't feel like a cash grab. It felt organic and added more depth to the series. So I'd highly recommend this set for anyone wanting to catch up on the series before the new movie comes out. The price is more than reasonable.

Primo perchè racchiude in sè i tre soli film della "linea" principale di storia, senza i vari spin-off come X-men - l'inizio o wolverine.. OTTIMA - Consigliata!
