The Modeen Factor (The Jo Modeen Series Book 1)

The book was easy to read and follow. The story draws me in; and many a times I found myself fully immersed in the story-telling and it felt like I was ‘in’ the characters I was reading. The author provides just the right level of details to set the scenes, providing a framework for scene visualization and supporting the flow of the dialogue. The author has cleverly planted snippets of seemingly unrelated events/information which were later explained further down the book, or I believe will be used to set up the next adventure in the book sequence. I look forward to putting that 2+2 together further down the book sequel. Whilst description of martial fights sequence were overly detailed; for a martial art enthusiast, I found myself engrossed in each step of the fight motion described. The author also includes Oz slang and landscape, flora and fauna and provide a decent representation of Australia which will prove useful for readers who have not the opportunity to visit Down Under! We all need to escape from reality every once in a while, and this book allows me to easily leapfrog into a world of ‘make-believe’ of the author without too much effort. Well done Frank!

This was a great start to a series. JD is a great heroine with a terrific team around her. Looking forward to many more adventures!

Growing up with tails of Marine corps rangers and other raiders. I was drafted and served twenty-five years in the U.S. Army and met a lot of folks during that time.

A great read, now having read all four books in the series I can say I'm hooked, the characters were good and I had no trouble relating to them.And as an Australian it was great to read about the places I know so well that were used as the backdrop for these exiting adventures

Enjoyed book very much. The characters are believable and well drawn. Nice to see a female protagonist who is an action hero, with no additional fantasy thrown into the mix. Loved the Australian background

If you would like to read something different then try this. A female ex Australian special forces soldier finds a new job.

This has all the hallmarks of an action movie in waiting, lots of action, an attractive strong woman protagonist and a good plot to tie it all together, what more do you want.

This book is one of those exceptional novels that you really can't put down, it is very fast paced and a really exciting read, I can't wait to get hold of the next one in the series. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who thinks they can stand the pace

I am a bit tired of mysterious organisations and super-heroes. A bit too ‘conspiracy theory’ for me. A shame, as I was really excited by the blurb.
