Domestic Art

This is absolutely one of the best interior design books for those who think great interiors must incorporate wonderful art. I love and am inspired by this book. It showcases collectors with great individual taste which I really appreciate. So often it is obvious from the bland rooms people of means own that they simply hired someone to do a room for them and include some obligatory artwork of good taste...however the lack of passion and interest is obvious in these design by the number$ rooms. The rooms showcased in Domestic Art are the opposite, they are owned and inhabited by passionate collectors who are gutsy enough to collect and live with the art they love. This is an incredibly inspiring book; I bought a second copy for my Mom. We both love it and return to peruse it often.

But is it art Eddie?! Well, I have to say this book has a lot of it. From the images, to what they portray, one will not find a better source of inspiration from so many different points of view. All modern & monumental.

Great photographs of 37 seriously interesting and unique interiors...not your standard decorator's fare. Consistently high quality pictures surprisingly done by nine different photographers including three whose residences were featured in the book. The homes were mostly those of interior designers or individuals connected with the art/antique world. The book has become scarce and expensive but it is worth the cost if you have a few dollars to spare. More background could had been devoted to the individual owners, but the names are easily googled. One hopes that PaperCity will produce a sequel....fine work!

The best book on interiors published in the last 5 years. Truly.Features fabulous rooms from a diverse set of people. Designers, artists... a lot of individuality and a nice break from both the overdone Regency overload we have seen recently, and from the too-minimalist designs we have seen in mags like Dwell and Met Home in the last few years.A big, substantial book. Really inspiring.

Awesome book of inspiration for those who want ideas for a curated look rather than a produced design look. Surprising that all of the examples shown are ALL located on Texas. Who knew??!!

You may not know these residents, but their apartments you will never forget. Great decorative mixtures of art & eclectic styles. Richly colorful and bold. Great photographic details. Highly inspirational.

You won't regret purchasing this luxury tome! The interiors are top shelf as is the quality of the book. Beautiful photos throughout! You will be inspired by this book! Five stars!

A fantastic book with a quality range of interiors. It's a substantial book packed with images rather than words. Really worth the money and a lifelong keepsake.
