Nice beginners steadicam
I've only had this product for one day, but I'll mention the pros and cons that I've noticed so far. First off, I would like to say that this is my first steadicam. As far as shipping went, it was decently packaged. It was inside of its bag, with foam on both long sides to protect it. I was told that shipping would take about a month, but I received the item within three days. Before I bought this steadicam, I looked at others around the same price online. One problem I saw with some of the other steadicams, is the threading on the quick release plate could slip out of the plate, and end up getting lost. This does not have that problem because it has two different size threadings, the bigger one on the side of the plate with the hole. So if you actually wanted to remove the threading, you would first have to unscrew the larger threading through the hole. This bigger threading kind of annoyed me at first, because it got in the way of one of the knobs. But now as I'm typing this, I realize that all I have to do is flip the plate around, and problem solved.Cons:Kinda heavy after a while, but that's with all steadicams. No foam on the stem: Foam would help prevent vibrations coming from your non-dominant hand that holds the stem of the steadicam to control where the camera is facing. Simple fix though. Just got to buy some foam at a store to wrap around the stem.No bubble Level: Bubble level would be a real nice addition to this stabilizer to help with the balancing. You could always buys your own level with a shoe mount, but keep in mind that if you do, you need to keep the level on during shooting. Cause if you balance the steadicam with the level on, then you take it off, it will no longer be properly balanced.Pros: Comes with a dvd that shows you how to use it. I watched the first 2 minutes. It was about an hour long. It was in Chinese or something. Had good visual explanation though. I instead watched a 15 minute youtube video to figure out how to balance it though.Quick to set up. I didn't really time myself, but it didn't take long. 10-18 minutes I think. That included watching the video though. I set it up while watching the video and pushing pause a few times. With some practice I'm sure I could get it balanced in 3 minutes.Arm has foam Nice and comfortable for my hand, and of course, helps to prevent vibrations.Over all, very happy with my purchase so far. Testing it out, my footage didn't have any noticeable jitter. And that's with a wide angle of 17mm, no internal image stabilizer. The shots that I got look kinda amateur, but that's because I just got the steadicam. Takes a few months of practice with any steadicam to get real nice, professional looking shots. But over all, I'm happy with the smoothness that I get from this steadicam.

and if I walked super slow and steady it wouldn't sway too much
Had a lot of problems with this swaying all over the place and giving the footage I filmed a sort of "on a boat at sea" look. It didn't matter how long I fiddled and adjusted it, or looked at Andyax video for help, I still wasn't able to use this in a productive way. I tried filming moving shots, and if I walked super slow and steady it wouldn't sway too much, but my wrist started aching immediately after using it.Before buying this I was excited because I thought; "FINALLY! A way to make moving shots without the shaky footage caused by being directly connected to my hand and body! Finally! Film like quality movement!" Nope. Now it just sits in my closet taking up space.I'd recommend a slider rig, it's now my primary besides handheld.
