> DOES THE JOB
COMPARED WITH OTHER TYPES OF EYEGLASS RETAINERS> With "long cord push on" retainers (like these Chums), you can quickly and easily (with one hand) lower your glasses to below your chin (to about the bottom of your neck, with the glasses hanging from your ears) to take a photo with a camera or cell phone, etc. It looks a little goofy, with your glasses hanging from your ears, but it's just for a few seconds. It is just as quick to slip your glasses back in place on your face. If you want to lower your glasses to your chest, say while you are reading a magazine, that's a two step process which takes both hands. It is also a multi-step process to put your glasses from your chest back in place on your face.> "Short cord push on" retainers (NOT these Chums) are for minimizing the risk of loosing your glasses during strenuous activities (such as playing tennis). You can't hang "short cord push on" retainers from your ears (for a quick photo, etc.), nor can you hang them from your neck (to read a menu, etc).> With "granny" retainers (which attach by a loop to the mid-stems of your eyeglasses), you can drop your glasses directly to your mid-chest, hanging from your neck. It may take a few seconds longer (than with "push on" retainers) to put them back on your face. But you look more like an "old lady" wearing them.CONCLUSION -- If you ONLY want to minimize loosing your glasses during activities, "short cord push-on" retainers are probably best. If you want to be able to lower your glasses quickly and temporarily (e.g., to take a photo), "long cord push-on" retainers are your best choice. If you want to be able to most easily lower your eyeglasses to your chest (e.g., to read something lengthy), then "granny" retainers are your best bet.HOW WELL WILL THEY HOLD? -- It depends on the design of your eyeglasses. Your glasses must have a swelling at the end for "push-on" retainers to hold well. Some eyeglasses (particularly sunglasses) may be too thick for "push-on" retainers. If the stems of your eyeglasses are oily with skin oil, "push-ons", may not hold well. These Chum "long cord push-ons", only push-on about 1/2". Some "short-cord" push-ons push-on 1" or more and get a more secure grip. "Granny" retainers can easily slip off the ends of plastic or all metal eyeglasses when the glasses are hanging. With wire-frame glasses with plastic earpieces, "granny" retainers are very secure, because they can't get past the plastic earpiece.DESCRIPTION/EVALUATION OF CHUMS 3mm UNIVERSAL FIT ROPE EYEWEAR RETAINERS> These Chums are "universal" in that (with the cord shortened by the slider), <> they hold your eyeglasses securely during activities; <> you can hang them very quickly from your ears to take a photo, etc., and <> you can lower them to your chest if you don't want them on your face for a long period of time (such as to read, or while having a meal).> Hung from your ears, your glasses will be at the bottom of your neck.> Hung from your neck, your glasses will be at mid-chest level (nipple level on a guy) -- the ideal length, at least for me.> Holds well to my eyeglasses which have a small (3/16") swelling at the tip, at least for non-strenuous activities.> The slider does not lock (which is actually good, since it is easy to adjust), but holds in place surprisingly securely.> Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews. They work and work and work
Chums are my Chumit's funny to review something as simple as a little piece of rope that you attach to your glasses. this is the third set of chums I have owned and it's the third set because I like them so much that I buy them as replacements over and over, yes I am a repeat customer.my first purchase was a number of years ago on a Carnival cruise. I was afraid I might lose my eyeglasses or my expensive Ray bans overboard, so I purchased these in the ships gift shop. they were reasonably priced and I later found out that Carnival didn't mark them up like crazy. They were work well on the cruise and I continue to use them all the time. I purchased a second pair from Amazon and used them on my sunglasses. They're really quite simple in design work so well. The only problem you might have is if you have very wide ear stems on your glasses. Other than that they're pretty much universal . the cord is thin but heavy-duty, it will not fray or break on you, there is a little adjuster on the back to tighten or loosen the length of the cord, and the retainer attaches to your glasses with little rubber tubes that gripped the glasses fairly tightly. as I said this is the third pair I bought and I am replacing the original set that is about four years old. I have gotten my money's worth and more out of it. Five-star recommended buy, I love them.Man I love the taste of watermelon, it's just such a chore to cut properly. I always end up with a big piece of rind to chew on, and a few times a little bit of the red juice wasn't watermelon, it was my blood, I was overjoyed when I saw this watermelon slicer offered on Amazon, so I ordered it, and it arrived promptly. Just in time for tonight's desert, really simple in design I don't know why anybody hadn't thought of this sooner. After cutting the watermelon in half, you just slice from one end to another giving you a perfect half-moon slice of melon. Flawless, ingenious, incredible, the invention of the century, or maybe the millennium, well, let's just say it's a pretty good idea and this one is made pretty well. I like the fact that you get all these little extras with it particularly the two little forks and my favorite little plastic do hicky that peels your orange. This thing makes life easy and cuts your kitchen prep time down. A four-star favorite and a recommended buy.If you found my review helpful please click yes on the button below I really appreciate your support for that I intend to leave reviews to help others make decisions prior to purchase taste upon my recommendations or disclosure and I utilize your reviews to help me with my purchases as well I have received this product during the promotional period at a discounted price for my honest review thanks for reading even though I received this product at little or no cost review is not based upon that consideration my reviews honest factual and accurate thank you

Great when new, comes off in about 3 months.
Still the best ones but I have to rebuy them a few times a year. The rubber grips will loosen every few months.

Go to for outdoor activities
Great company. I’ve used chums in forest firefighting and personal outdoor activities. Keeps your sunnies on and when you don’t need it… out of the way.

Rugged and Secure Glasses Retainer
I buy these guys for all of my sunglasses. The chum brand is nice and rugged and prevents me from loosing my glasses when I go fishing or for a hike. I have always purchased chums as I find them to be much better quality then some of the other cheaper brands out there. These work great and I have yet to have a pair that fails.I use these in some pretty cold conditions here in Canada. Last week it was near -15 and I had these guys strapped to my polarized glasses and they stayed put without any issues. I have had a pair of cheaper knockoff holders that actually froze and crumbled! These guys held strong. The string is very strong and secure. Your glasses are not gonna drop! The ends are made out of a rubber material that stretches and hangs on very securely to the arms of your glasses. It can take a little elbow grease to get them on but its def worth it. I found that its easiest to twist as you push them on the ends of the arms. The cinch that holds that tightens the string is made of a hard plastic and it holds the tension very nicely.
