I'm So Embarrassed

love reading this to pre schoolers they love mr munch

I purchased this book because my 5 year old daughter is always telling me not to embarass her (not that I would ever do that!) We both enjoyed the story.

Great book in excellent condition!

This book was just ok. I found it to be a bit boring. Not a very good moral to the story, the children just do the same thing back to their parents so what did they learn?

Another Amazon reviewer and I love to review children's books and usually love the books we review. Not this time, not for "I'm So Embarrassed," by Robert Munsch.If "I'm So Embarrassed" is some type of satire or wry humor, it goes over my head. The premise: A mother takes her son, 9 or so, to the mall for new shoes. He does NOT want to go because Mom embarrasses him EVERY time. She promises not to. Of course, first thing, without thinking, she spits on her hand and tries to tame his wild hair. Eeeekkk, he screams. You embarrassed me. I did? She is truly perplexed. Well, I won't do it again. But she does--two more gross times: In a lingering conversation with a kissy aunt and in showing his baby pictures to one of his teachers they meet. Double eeekkk!!Then a friend from school appears and they decide to hang out since their moms embarrass them. The girl's mother brings over underpants and flaunts them in front of the boy. Which color do you want, she asks.The two friends decide to embarrass their moms by saying they both snore and blame the thunderous sounds on the fathers. Then the mothers hide and demand to know how the children could embarrass them like that. They say, We had good teachers! The End.The first grade teacher in my school loves this book and reads it to her students every year. I don't know why. The two mothers are incredibly insensitive, with edges of cruelty spiking their insensitivity. Then the turn-about is just as idiotic. Two children screaming out that their mothers snore. What kind of families are these, mall goers surely must wonder. Dysfunctional, for sure.Did I miss something in this book? Two wrongs don't make a right? Is that it? What is the message? Is there a message? Should there be one? Come on, Mr. Munsch, what is the point of your book? Librarians truly want to know!

My young child and I both enjoy Robert Munsch's Love You Forever very much. The other day my baby picked up 'I am so embarrassed' and 'Smelly Socks' from the library. I disapprove both of these books for my baby but this one I'm so embarrassed is even worse than the smelly socks because I don't find it funny at all. With books like these, it is no wonder that we have a society full of inconsiderate people and lacking respect and social skills.

this is a great edition of the munsch stories. The size and presentation is totally great for reading at betime with low lighting - you will be able to easily read the font and words. You will also love seeing the many intricate details in the page-size pictures. As will your kids. Of course now we have to complete our Munsch collection - I just hope we find the right edition like this so we can enjoy it as much.

I work with Kindergarteners, and they love Robert Munch books. This is an especially cute story that they like to be read to them over and over.

Who wouldn't love Munsch. These books are so much fun to read to the little ones.
