Deep Wounds, Deep Healing

This book is a detailed understanding of Inner Healing. The author explains a method of going from womb to present. There is a basic method that is recommended but the majority of thew work is through and by the Holy Spirit. The author talks about the effects of evil spirits on a person and basic ways to rid a person of those spirits. The author spends a good portion of the book talking about multiple personalities, alters, and others including Self. The basis for this is that we wall up of encapsulate traumatic events that we are unable to deal with which can create a separate "identity" in the mind of a person. For example. there may be a six year old child alter trapped in the mind of an adult because the child was severely abused and could not cope with the experience. The author also gives alternative methods that he has been give by the Holy Spirit and has used on clients. The material he presents has been used in sessions he and others have conducted to help free people. Inner Healing is picturing the painful events of our lives and allowing Jesus to show us His perspective on it. This does not change or make like the event never happened, but it helps to reduce and heal the emotional and spiritual pain associated with the event.

I have read many books on the subject of deliverance and inner healing. This is an area I am well informed in. This has been the most helpful material on the subject so far. If You're looking for a clearly defined bridge between inner healing/deliverance and modern counseling, this book wil satisfy you. I am most impressed by how professionally and tactfully he handles this subject, avoiding the all too common extremes authors usually hold to. It's very Informative, Christ-centered, practical and well supported with research based info, real life examples and opinions from other experts. Highest recommendation! My only warning is this is not for the narrow-minded, as some of his techniques challenge religious convention. ....but it gets serious RESULTS!

Very good insight into inner healing. Well written. Explains how trauma affects us and how people learn to cope with emotional pain, particularly from childhood, as well as the need to go back and address areas of wounding in order to become whole.I particularly liked the analogy of a scar. The event happened, and we were wounded, but with God's healing the raw pain is healed, so we no longer have the raw pain, but we bear the scars. The memory of the event now also brings with it understanding of Jesus' healing and redemption, and Comfort. His truth sets us free. We see His protection and presence even in the places of deep wounding.

I'm writing as a Christian Evangelical, who has had experience in the Charismatic movement. I got this book looking for perspectives on spiritual warfare, which I've neglected until recently. Because Charles Kraft has been at Fuller Theological Seminary since 1969, he writes from a theologically sound, academic, and practical standpoint. In other words, there's no loosey-goosey, name-it-and-claim-it, wish-fulfillment, "Secret" theological trash here. I really appreciated Kraft's solid, non-judgemental explanation of how Christians can be demonized (not "possessed"), and that his ministry is primarily a LOVING one. It was mind opening, and spiritually revealing. I'm reading more of his books - Christianity With Power and I Give You Authority - to learn better how to pray and intercede. I do see the world with different eyes, which seems to come by closing them and praying more.

For those with DID or other dissociative disorders or those who are ministering to them, this is book is spot on. A must read and study and refer back to during ministering. For both those with dissociation disorders or those who want to help. Those who want to help really need to understand their limitations in order not to do further harm. These limitation are expressed well in the book.

Excellent book for understanding how trauma is stored in the brain as memories and how to reach these deep, sometimes hidden, confused and forgotten memories. Explains about memory theory and spiritual warfare! Wow! What a combination! Explains that these memories keep us from happiness and sometimes torpedo our lives! For your own use for deep-level healing or for the therapist. Dr. Charles Kraft is an expert on inner healing, deliverance ministry and spiritual warfare. Not difficult to understand and well written!

Life changing book for me! With the Holy Spirit as my guide, my eyes and heart was opened up to new and good gifts from God. However, if you are not ready to do the hard work required for a closer relationship with God, don't buy this book. But if you are at that place where you are fed up and ready to do whatever it takes to change your life, this book is for you!

It's an amazing book! This teaches you how to get really healed! There are lots of programs (like the 12 step programs, either Christian or secular) out there for people to get help in facing their "hurts, hang-ups, ad addictions." But this book gets to the spiritual roots of these issues and helps us pull them out once and for all! Combine this book with a good recovery program and some brothers or sisters to be accountable to and you have freedom!

i found this book to be quite involved and fairly deep. It does cover the subject of inner healing very well and comprehensively.

What an amazing book! I am a Pastor of a Baptist church in London, and I have followed Kraft's practical steps and have already seen two people, with very complicated issues, healed and delivered. and loving Jesus!
