I agree with other reviews complaining about the leaky bottle. My daughter packed this to go swim at her grandparents’ pool and said it leaked and got all over the other bag contents. (No moratorium bites, though!)That being said, we hane used this product for YEARS. The active ingredient is non-toxic when you look it up on the EPA web site (though I have to admit that I didn’t think of looking up ALL the ingredients).I can vouch for its high effectiveness. One summer years ago, while the rest of my family was out of town, I started working on weeding the dense overgrowth from years of slowly losing the battle against them — in other words, I was in the yard from 6am to about 9pm daily with just enough breaks to hydrate and grab a quick bite. I reapplied the Bug Guard Plus only once in the middle of the day. I did try to stay in the shade as much as i I could, but got no sun burns and no bug bites. This was for two weeks straight. I was beginning to wonder if I was maybe particularly unpalatable to mosquitos.Then, after taking my shower one night, I noticed a raccoon family in my back yard. I opened the door for about 5 minutes to try to shoo them away and got bitten several times by mosquitoes immediately! I think that’s plenty of proof as to how well it works!Asa side comment: to answer to another review that urged people not to spray their yards. I disagree. I found a company that uses organic methods to treat for mosquitoes and ticks with products that don’t harm beneficial insects like butterflies and bees, as well as worms. (I know that some of the active ingredients are peppermint and cedar out of a long list of on-toxic substances). And yes, I strongly believe it works because we have a lot fewer mosquitoes around my house compared to my parents’ house and other parts of our neighborhood where they are not getting their lawns/yards treated.

We have a bad mosquito problem here in the deep south and I had used Avon's SkinSoSoft aerosol bug spray during early and late fall hunting season and it worked great. I couldn't find the spray so I gave the pump bottle a try and it worked just as well, maybe even better. I have very sensitive skin that reacts unfavorably with products containing Deet but I have not had any adverse reactions to Avon SkinSoSoft products. They really work well for me repelling mosquitos, flying insects and ticks. The initial scent is not bad at all but does dissipate after a short period of time, it doesn't seem to spook game while hunting. I spray it in my hands then wipe it on my face, ears, arms and legs and the initial application will generally last me 6-8 hours while in the woods.

It works really well! We had a block party, and with the recent Zika news I wanted to be sure we are protected when spending time outdoors, or when I mow. Normally, I'm like a sweet treat to mosquitoes, They just love my legs. The Summer here is too hot to wear long pants, so I get bit a lot. Not this year. No bites at all, after several hours outside from afternoon, into the evening. I know they were out, because I saw them flying around. My only fault is that this isn't supposed to be greasy, but it is, just a little. Not bad though, but I don't like lotions and such so prefer no oily feel.It's worth it though, to be bite free. Now, I've applied this for mowing several times and no bites. We're considering the Western Caribbean as a cruise destination, so this will be coming along. I've actually ordered a second bottle because I'm sure this will be gone by the time that happens. The smell is pleasant enough, and not overpowering, but the real purpose of stopping bugs is second to none.Update: After visiting Honduras is wet weather, Belize in the jungle and Mexico, I came home with zero bites. Awesome.

Im not sure how healthy or safe this is but I have to say.... as a CERTIFIED mosquito magnet... like they see me as buffet..Im at a point where the bite and discomfort is unbearable and I've gotten so many bites that staying outdoors has become unenjoyable for me. This product absolutely works. I used to buy the cream version - but this one is a lot easier to apply. I get zero bites after spraying this on. My friends that bought this after my recommendation say the same thing. Again, i don't know what's in it but it works 100% for me.

Gulf breezes help keep mosquitoes away, but No-See-Ums are impervious to them. A popular gathering spot for boaters from Panama City is our barrier island, Shell Island. With the Gulf of Mexico on one side and St. Andrews Bay on the other side, Shell Island almost always has a wonderful breeze for islanders to enjoy. However, one’s fun day in the sun can turn to misery because of No-See-Ums. Avon SSS used to be Avon Skin So Soft. This is the ABSOLUTE BEST product to ward off No-See-Ums. In fact, I really do not know of any other product that is successful against this tiny little pest. Some people object to the scent, but it doesn’t bother me. Avon SSS is beneficial to one’s skin as well. I’ve used this product for decades. It outranks any of its competitors. Avon SSS is not harmful to pets and helps keep mosquitoes, No-See-Ums and other pests from pestering them. I put a few drops in the rinse when bathing mine. It is, especially, a top priority item for boaters. I have it in my car as well as various places in my home. YES, I highly recommend this product. This review was written by LynKin.
