A good read.
I was very pleased this work. It was well written/edited and as a result a very smooth read. It’s a rather straightforward internal corporate intrigue caper/shadow runner origin story. I was very pleased that the author did not bog the story down with techno jargon or excessive amounts of gaudy ornamentation. I also liked the lack of plot armor and the incorporation of auto doc treatment and resultant down time. Too many authors will visit grievous and injuries on their characters and then have them back in fighting trim an hour later. The author went light on the magic, which is fine by me, not every shadow run is a quest to save the world from a magical apocalypse nor are there great dragons in every alley. I also appreciated how the author cut the main character away from his past and ensured he could not go back. Many of the named characters had a good enough back story you could easily use them as NPCs in a shadow run RPG session. I particularly appreciated the nemesis and I wouldn’t mind reading about some of his past exploits, he would also make a great contact or opponent in game. In summation this was a well written and enjoyable work, I feel I received my money’s worth and would read additional works from the author.

Good until the ending
I quite enjoyed this, with a glimpse into the Sixth World only the normal folk see. Only issue I had was, the ending was rather abruptly pessimistic, and yet tried to frame itself as a net gain.

Solid work, definitly worth a read
so first off, i read both "dark resonance" and "identity: crisis" (both written by phaedra weldon) and what i first noticed was an improvement in writing stylei had a few months in between the books, so my memory might serve me badly, but its what i thought at firstwas smooth to read and even though the story was pretty predictable at points, it was still nice to readthe end felt a bit lackluster, compared to "dark resonance", but i can understand that not every run can end the way it did in "dark resonance"i also very much enjoyed the last sentence in this book, those who read both books will understandotherwise it was a very humane story, nice up and down of the situations, proper risks and dangers, with a little bit of fun in betweenyou just have to let a little bit of suspension of disbelief carry you through a few rare spotsone point that kinda annoyed me specifically because i read both books was that one thing that happened in both books to the lovers of the main character, but i dont wanna spoil what it wasyou know what you did phaedra, dont do it three times!

Poor Story with limited knowledge of the Shadowrun World
Really low level writer beginners work. Story has no surprises and no supsense. On top the writer shows a complete lack of understanding of the basics of the shadowrun world.
