How to Build a Motorcycle: A Nut-and-Bolt Guide to Customizing Your Bike

Nicely designed and informative
I bought this having heard nothing of it and wasn't planning on building a bike. I'm just a biker and it looked like it could be an interesting read. The book is nicely designed and bound and the design is a good balance between illustrations and information. I wouldn't say its all you need to know to build a bike as its not a technical manual like a Haynes but it does give you a good idea of what can be done and how things work. There's some nice photos at the back of the book showing some custom bikes and the rest of the book is very well laid out.I'd say the book would be a good gift purchase for anyone interested in bikes. If I hadn't bought it for myself I would have been very pleased if it was under the Christmas tree.

Perfect for a visual learner
I would describe the layout as a comic book, the drawings are detailed (Not a technical diagram like a Haynes manual, but still a great and simple to understand reference). You have a wide range of information covered, including what tools to use, different bike design features and how they differ and trouble shooting.I would definitely recommend this book, but I would always recommend it alongside the make and model technical manual (If you're actually building a motorbike). This was one of my recent satisfying purchases.

Easy to read and lots of tips
I really recommend this book. I bought this as I have bought my first project. It is easy to understand and I found it easy to read the whole book in one day. It will certainly guide me along with the manual. I liked the illustrations and was refreshed to see women in the book as well.

Inspiration rather than a guide
It’s a great book. It has great drawings and will give you inspiration and a basic knowledge so a perfect sofa read. Don’t mistake this for a Haynes manual though. One for novices or bikers that want to see if building is for them.

Great Book
Everything about this book is brilliant. Awesome illustrations, very well written, informative and it looks equally as good in the garage as it does on a coffee table in the lounge!

A motorcyclists must have
Well I bought this book because I am into bikes. And yes I am happy. If you are already into motorcycles or are about to start your journey this is a good buy. Really appealing from cover to cover and great quality, this will only cement your lifelong bond with riding into the wind.

Great for beginners
I think it's a wonderful first look into the building of motorcycles. It is a book that, like the author said, gives you you a good insight into whether you want to take the on the commitment of building a bike. Or not. For me it was a not. Or at least, not yet. But it still was an _amazing_ entry into the world of motorcycles and despite not wanting to build, I got lots of knowledge about technicalities of frame, nuts and bolts (literally and figuratively!), jargon etc.
