Memorex DVD RAM 4.7GB Non-Cartridge Pack 5

Perfect DVD for computer files backup. Stores pictures and movies with clear video and sound. I do recommend this product.

These are only discs that work on my old DVD recorders. Both are Panasonic recorders.

After reading other reviews, I planned on checking all 5 discs as soon as the package arrived. But I only got to number 2 before finding one that didn't work. I gave a new Panasonic DVD recorder that has recorded many, many Panasonic DVD-RAM discs without issue. The second one I tried in this package threw the error "This is a non-recordable disc. Cannot record.". I have returned the items and will receive a refund from Amazon. I should have known better than to buy Memorex DVDs. I have had problems with their discs before. I suckered for the low price.

I am using the discs on a Panasonic DVD recorder for my TV. I rated this four out of five because one of the five disks was defective and would not work. The others were fine, and the seller quickly resolved the problem concerning the defective one. I checked all five disks immediately because I had a problem previously with defective Panasonic-brand disks that I did not discover in time to return.

I've always found DVD-RAM discs to be totally reliable, in contrast to RW discs. My first try with Memorex, so if I run into problems I'll update later. Speed rated 2 or 3x. These come in large DVD cases. They are preformatted for video. I don't know exactly what that entails. It has capability for CPRN (content protection). I use them for computer data handling, and it tests just fine, like any DVD-RAM disc, so formatting doesn't look like an issue. Never reformat these to some other format or you lose the benefits of the DVD-RAM features, which involves error handling. Mind you, your drive needs to be capable of DVD-RAM specifically. It is not easy to get info about these discs, but possibly all drives have this capability. The price from Annova was right. Canada Customs becomes involved at $20 Can, so this is not an issue. Now March 2016, I am finding it unreliable. Behaving like a regular RW disc. Writing is stalling and can't get out of it. So the coating is not top grade like Verbatim's was.
