Top quality birdseed
I choose to feed my backyard critters a top quality brand (and I think Cole's is the best and yet less expensive than going to the local bird boutique!). The cheaper birdseed isn't really cheaper - IMO - when you see all the millet that goes uneaten and is just a filler. I know some people don't like the dried fruit in this but since I have more than birds eating this, I don't mind it. Right now as I type this a bunny is eating some of the dried fruit. Anyway, I put it out daily (I ground feed) and by the same late afternoon, ALL of it is gone! It is costlier than some of the other Cole's products so I usually combine it with their sunflower meats; putting less of this out than the sunflower meats and the black oil sunflower seeds (not Cole's but still good quality). Bottom line: I love it and so do my "guests" !!

In the process of looking into what to feed birds in my area I was outraged to learn how much of bird seed has little or no food
Decided to feed birds on a larger scale this winter after reading about how the deep snow in Massachusetts had cut off access to their food supply. In the process of looking into what to feed birds in my area I was outraged to learn how much of bird seed has little or no food value and worse, that bird food was often treated with pesticides and so forth. This is what got me to Cole's. I went with the even more expensive suet blend because I couldn't get to my suet feeders hanging in various trees without shoveling far across my property. We have never seen so many wood peckers and other winter birds. But the returning birds were extraordinary. We watched the gold finches moult and brighten up and for the first time in 25 years, we have Baltimore Orioles searching in our yard for protein (insects) to feed their young.

Some Birds Do Not Like
I was using wagner's seeds in 2 bird feeders - attracted a lot of finches, cardinals, sparrows, wrens and doves. With Cole's, it attracted Cardinals, doves and a larger species of Finch that I had not seen before. Cole's seems like a Cardinals' favorite. The smaller birds passed on Cole's. Had to blend Cole's with Wagner to get the smaller birds back to the feeders.

Great bird feed!
Spending extra money on a quality bird seed is totally worth it. I feed my birds over the winter only (we have bears) and this seed offers themnutrition while also being yummy. I’ve noticed WAY less waste (basically none) since switching to this seed which is another benefit. This seed attracts all kinds of different birds-including blue jays and woodpeckers.

Birds love it
Well I didn’t taste it before I rated it 5 stars for flavor but within five minutes, the birds are all over it. In an hour or two, it is gone.

Bugs -
The birds love this birdseed, it's a little expensive, but if you like to birdwatch, it's worth it. THis is the first shipment I've ever received that had bugs in it breaking down the seed.
