How can you control the grind coarseness of the grind?

Only by not grinding for very long if you want a more coarse result, blades and spin speed don't change

Yes if it grinds coffee it should do that.

I make coffee just for me - one cup! Will this mill grind such a small amount successfully?

I haven’t used this for coffee at all but it is an excellent machine and I think it would work. I ground a few almonds the other day for another enquiry and that worked well. I use it to grind a few spices and chillies and it works well for that.
