Sony lives up to their reputation
There are plenty of places you can go online to get the detailed specs on this screen once it has been professionally reviewed. I'll give you impressions from my couch. I selected the X900H for the same reason many of you will - I wanted a great set today that will be ready for PS5 in the near future. All I can comment on is how good the set is today, one week after its release. In a word: fantastic.I am a post-production professional. I've seen video look its absolute best in the same rooms and on the same displays as the guys who finish projects before they go out into the wild. Having experience with a professionally calibrated grading monitor, when it comes to selecting gear for my own home I'm very particular about what I choose and do patient research with the goal of coming as close as possible to that level of performance without spending a fortune. When I calibrate my personal TVs, I aim for accuracy. My living room is light controlled. I use test patterns to set the black level, the white level, and the color saturation using those old school blue THX glasses. Yeah, I'm that guy. I do it all by eye, I haven't paid to have someone come out with a Colorimeter and CALMAN and get this thing science-lab perfect, okay? On the weekends I'm a regular joe with a remote control and snacks that wants to watch some TV and wants it to look "correct". Having said all of that - I'm blown away by this TV's performance. I've got it calibrated to my liking and this thing makes content look like it's coming right out of the studio. I feel like my living room is my edit bay and this is the reference monitor.Black levels are nearly-perfect and completely uniform. Colors are very natural. I'll save space by just saying - it lives up to Sony's reputation for image quality. I've watched blu-rays in SDR, Ultra HD blu-rays in HDR10, Netflix in Dolby Vision, Disney Plus in HDR10, PS4 games in SDR and HDR, even DVDs. They all look great. No funky colors. No weird artifacts. No need for extra words.Read any enthusiast forum about TVs and you'll hear about blooming. I've seen it bloom once or twice during PS4Pro gaming sessions on loading screens. Never during HDR movies or normal content. You a videophile? You can tweak this TV to your heart's content. Want to change something about the picture? There's a slider for that.I was replacing a Sony I've owned since 2008, which still looks great today, I only wanted a larger screen and wanted to go 4K. I'm very pleased with the X900H's performance. Same goes for the build quality. The design is elegant and looks great in the room. Nothing feels cheap. The packaging was safe, secure, and not wasteful. The experience with Amazon was 5 star. Placed order on a Monday, greeted the UPS man on Thursday. If I have any regrets at all about the purchase - I kinda wish I'd gotten the biggest one they make even though I don't have the space for it.

Arguably the most future proof LED this year
UPDATE: THERE ARE NOW NON-REMOVABLE ADS. Dropping my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. The Android TV Home app has added non-removable ads. Starting with Android TV Home version 2.1.3-320113730-f, there is now a massive ad area (taking up 30% of the main screen). The ads are called "Staff Picks" and advertise shows I don' care about on services I don't subscribe to (for example there are ads for Disney+ even though I don't intend to ever get that service). The "staff picks" ad banner is non-removable!Before this ad infestation I had my Android home set up perfectly (Android TV Home version 2.0 is not infected with ads). Now 30% of the screen is a massive banner. Imagine 30% of the real estate of 65" TV constantly changing ads every few seconds.Sorry but I didn't drop $1.5K on a TV to receive a massive billboard with it. Sony needs to pressure Google to make the "staff picks" ads completely removable. When the we are given the option to hide the ads, I will restore the original rating.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Got the 65" version of the X900H which has the better speakers (over the 55" version which is missing Sony Acoustic Multi-Audio). Absolutely love it. The sound coming from the built in speakers is crisp and clear. Have absolutely no need for external speakers. The picture is absolutely stunning as well. Watching Netflix UHD shows with this thing is awesome. Watched the "Our Planet" documentary... wow.The local dimming is stunning as well. No artifacts. Some technical details:Came with Firmware v6.0132 preinstalled which is the latest as of now. I directly plugged it in to my router using Ethernet, so no WiFi. Immediately connected to the internet and found an update for the remote control. Updated that, as well as the android apps using Play Store.I love the Android TV on this thing. Currently it's Android 9 (Pie). So no Android 10 yet. It's fast and very responsive.Hardware wise comes with:- Mediatek MT5895 SOC- Cortex A73 quad core @ 1.8GHz CPU- Mali G52 GPU- 3GB or RAM.- 4GB of internal storage and 1.5 GB of free space. Results in a pretty snappy UI. My understanding is that the SOC of the X900H (Mediatek MT5895) is considerably faster that the SOC of the X950H (the MT5893).Connected a wireless keyboard (Logitech K750 with unifying receiver) and it works well out of the box...except the ESC key wasn't being recognized as the "Back" function. Found a solution via an app called External Keyboard Helper Pro. Which basically takes over from the default Gboard and allows you to fully utilize the external physical keyboard. It's so convenient to search using a proper full sized physical keyboard instead of the onscreen one.Although the included remote is pretty decent, it does feel flimsy and has a cheap plastic feel to it. Voice recognition works well. But I just prefer typing.I have a share on my windows desktop and was immediately able to access that share via SMB from both X-Plore File Explorer and VLC.Overall I have zero real complaints (except maybe the remote cheap feel).I love everything about this TV. And the future proofing that comes with HDMI 2.1 and ATSC 3.0 is the final cherry on top of this excellent product.

Great TV for the value
Wow, just wow! The Sony X900H is a great TV for the price. Just received and set-up my 75" and it looks amazing. The picture quality is great out of the box, and only needed minor adjustments to the Motion settings. The black is very black, making the colour pop. The built-in Android TV is also great, the UI is very usable and friendly, and the responsiveness is incredible.I've been shopping for a new 4K TV for a while and looked at many including Samsung's QLEDs, SLG's OLEDs, and TCL's miniLEDs, but this is the best bang for the buck. Highly recommended.

Good Picture - Questionable Electronics
The TV arrived is good condition. The picture is clear, bright, and crisp. Connections were easy.Even though this is an Android TV, it will not natively play Google Photos, a chromecast unit is necessary or a third party app (I haven't found a good one yet) loaded onto the TV.Some issues I've encountered, and common enough to google search many similar issues. The TV will disconnect from the local wifi, randomly, and frequently. If try to reconnect in the settings menu, it will not work. The TV must be rebooted, by holding down the power button on the remote, until the reboot screen appears. Takes about a minute. The other issue, and again, easily findable on the internet...the TV will randomly just shut off, and restart. It's usually proceeded by a loss of sound or a screen freeze, or both. My searches indicated a loose power cable (easy enough to check and verify) or a faulty power unit, within the TV.Would I buy this again? NO.

Guess who’s back. Back again. Sony’s back. Tell a friend.
I’m very impressed by the TV. The smart features are amazing. Got rid of my fireTV stick, Chrome cast, and others. Optical audio to your receiver makes audio simple. Super impressed.

Buy quality not driven by price. Remember you get what you pay for.
Does what we need for picture an quality. Built-in speakers are crap, must use alternate sound equipment.
