The needle felt starter kit exceeded my expectations in introducing me to the world of needle felting. The kit comes with everything needed to get started – a variety of colorful wool, felting needles, and a foam pad, and finger covers, and eyes. The quality of the materials is excellent, and the wool is easy to work with.

I bought this kit to learn a new skill, and make some cute animals while I am at it. It definitely delivered. Without any prior experience I was able to make the three above, and am currently working on the chicken. This comes with a large number of needles in a few different sizes, but I have yet to break any, and enough felt to do each of the animals at least twice in case of mistakes. but the designs and materials are forgiving enough that "mistakes" are easy to fix. The foam pad is, as others have said, just packing foam and after doing three animals it is definitely spongier than it was, but still holding up. Easy to replace when it needs to be. The weak point are the instructions, but the pictures are clear and I was able to figure things out. I recommend watching some videos on felting basics in your own native language, then watching the ones that come with the kit. Unless you speak Mandarin, then this has everything you need.

This kit seems fine for a beginner. The materials work and don't seem to be particularly poor quality (other than the foam pad, which the kit does make a point to inform you is not just part of the packing though it may appear to be) considering the price. The finger protectors are very tight if you have chunky sausage fingers as I do and at the same time rather bulky. However, I have gotten a few good sticks from the needles so far, so it's probably worth using them if you can manage. The included glue stick is for a hot glue gun, so be aware that if you want to use it, you'll need one. (Personally, I haven't found the glue terribly necessary and so far more mess/trouble than its worth).As for the needles, you're provided a variety of sizes, but they are in no way labeled. I'm not sure if this is standard. From what I can tell as an absolute beginner, this isn't a huge deal and I'm able to eyeball the sizes well enough to figure which will be appropriate after a little trial and error. You are also provided with an awl for inserting the included eyes and phone charm hardware. Don't be a dumb dumb like me and mistake the awl for a felting needle then proceed to waste 5+ minutes wondering why nothing is happening.The wool provided in the kit is plenty enough to complete the projects without worry...especially if you're like me and misunderstand the project size on your first attempt and make the world's tiniest green monster! I have fully enough to make a second, properly-sized version.The only problem I have with this kit is the instructions. They're clearly an at-home print job, which in and of itself isn't a problem, though the image quality is mediocre at best. The issue is that the written instructions are in google translate-level English. This is good for a laugh but not great for a beginner trying to learn. Helpfully, each instruction sheet includes a QR Code!...to a youtube channel that does not have the included projects and is fully in Chinese. Well, can't win 'em all.Despite the poor instructions, this craft is very beginner-friendly and you can find a lot of great online beginner tutorials in your desired language. Honestly, you can probably work it out from the slightly shoddy pictures and broken English provided well enough that those aren't even necessary. I would definitely recommend this kit for a reasonably resourceful beginner! I'm very pleased with my projects so far and am having a lot of fun learning the hobby.

Relatively easy to make and cute but dear lord is stabbing wool a million times not appealing to me. I made all four animals because I'm a completionist virgo and my only advice is to roll the initial body rounder (more like a circle than an oval) than you think. I think rounder is cuter. For some I made mine too long and ran out of wool to round it out. They looked weird. Better to go rounder imo.Anyway. This hobby is not for me. But 5 stars because this kit is completely self contained and great for someone who just wanted to try (like me).

This has been the best thing to do. i love doing crafts but often get discouraged because things get complicated. this has been so simple and easy to catch on. once i started i didn't want to stop. i started with the whale and when i was done i had so much extra i started making him little accessories and he makes me laugh everytime i see him!! the joy this little guy has given me makes me so excited to do the rest!! definitely worth it. it's quick, easy, and so fun!

This was an excellent beginning felting project! It took me roughly 3 hours to finish it, instructions were good and it was nice that it came with a handle for the needles and leather finger covers.

My teenage daughter LOVES this kit!! She had never felted anything before in her life and was able to figure it out just fine. Now she's felting almost every day. She says it's her favorite way to craft!

Does come with a few projects. Use videos to help. Not in English. Product box and papers had the worst mildew smell. The wool wasn't so bad but still needed to be aired out.
