Nice product, as described, saved no ey
Shopped at stores and found others to be harder to use. Like the fan/magnet combo. Easy to assemble than to unpack from giant box. Delivery driver just loved it. Stand up feature is good. Feet rests are a little close together for me but manageable. Simple electronicis, no membership BS. Just row and enjoy a good workout. Price was way cheaper than brick and mOrtor store

Don't buy!
Beyond disappointing!!! Difficult to assemble, poorly written directions, cheap quality, previously drilled holes hard to align and screws are just long enough to thread. Finally got assembly done and proceeded to use. The rower quit after three minutes - ribbon that attaches handle to front base would not retract. Called Octane and waited on hold for several minutes and was given the number of a local company to come out to repair. The local company wanted to charge for this, I told them Octane said there would be no charge for this repair on a brand new machine. Local company said they would contact Octane to approve cost of repair. Still no response from Octane to myself or local company. Also placed a call to Amazon yesterday and no response. I realize it's a holiday weekend; however, it's been four days since I've been trying to resolve this. In the meantime, I've put out over $1,500 for a product that doesn't work, get no response from Amazon or Octane, and the price of this rowing machine went down $200 since I purchased it. Lesson learned - buy locally from someone who can service. It may cost a bit more, but worth it in the long run.

This Machine Is Awesome
I think the best way to get this is see it in a store before ordering online. The reviewer that had problems with the feet supports probably needs to be shown the way this was meant to be used. Also, seeing it in a store put together would help visualize assembly better. It didn't look like bolts would line up, but with patience this went together perfectly, no adjustments needed. It is sturdy and has a commercial feel. I've had it over a month and will update if it craps out but so far it is fantastic. I was weary of the other reviews but so far I'm glad I went ahead with it.

Not good quality
Had to file a return, product does not work properly. Has a cheap feel to it, display turns off the second you start rowing, don't even have time to hit the pause button.

Know What You are Buying
This is a difficult product to evaluate. It boils down to making the right choice before the purchase.I'm a runner first and always, but needed a cross training activity. If I were a rower, I would have chose another rower. The Octane Ro appears to be targeted for cross-fit; it has features that I wouldn't try with a chain drive rower. So, it is perfect for me.On the other hand, the panel is very primitive, lacking features that a rower would want - compare to the Concept 2 rower PM5 and you will discover you miss out on a lot of features an athlete training as a first sport rower.Documentation is frankly poor. The operation manual is flat wrong or confusing in places. I cannot find anything on youtube or elsewhere on operation; and to be perfectly frank I find in insulting that the promotional videos are only hot models doing cross-fit workouts. I'm left with the impression that the manufacturer is only interested in the sale and not the buyer. But, I got what I wanted, and it does what I need. It could be much better

Excellent machine and glad I bought it
I was nervous about the assembly after reading other reviews on here. Honestly, the most annoying part of the assembly was getting it out of the box. The instructions are in several languages, so I was impressed when I saw the six easy steps. I set it up in two hours and enjoy using the machine, and I can't wait to see the results.

Too many flaws to recommend
Been using this product for 6 months. The handlebar has multiple positions you can switch between, which is nice for variety, but none of them are particularly comfortable. The rolling piece in the seat was rubbing itself raw on the shaft of the machine, leaving little white flecks everywhere; I was able to fix this with WD40 and now that part is working okay. The footholds are designed in a way that my heel doesn't actually "hook" into the back part of it. I have to use specific shoes that have a lip under the heel in order for my feet to be held in.Today, the little nubs that hold the adjustable foot rest snapped off on one side (see picture), making the whole machine basically useless. They need to fix the design of this, because I'm imagining a replacement part is just going to have the same problem eventually.UPDATE: Called the company and got free replacement parts. They've updated the design for the footholds into something that they say shouldn't snap off as easily. If the pegs holding the adjustable footrests are flat on the top, that should be the new version. I'm not sure if you'll get the new version by default, or their old stock. While trying to reassemble the machine, a couple of the bolts got stripped of threads, and the replacement seat worked worse than the one I had already. I now have a functional rowing machine, but I wouldn't readily recommend it.
