MSRLiquid Fuel Stove Replacement Fuel Pump

This is a drop-in genuine replacement MSR fuel pump. My old one was no longer shutting off fuel, as the plastic housing had worn after 15 years. I hope this one lasts as long, but sure feels like it will. If you want the old school reliable and rebuildable pump system, this is it!

I bought this instead of buying a rebuild kit for my 30+ year old MSR Whisperlite pump.My old pump still works, but replaced rings were showing wear and I started to worry that it might fail in the backcountry. Instead of saving $10 with the rebuild kit, I decided to get the newer version of the pump.PROS:Better pump than the original MSR Whisperlite pump I had. It definitely pushes air better.I like the new valve, which is more sensitive than my old pump. I can simmer easily.I did not have a problem attaching this to my old MSR Whisperlite hose. Some complained, whereas I don't think the latch is an issue at all.I thought the price was spot on.CONS:None. This is like my Swiss Army knife. My Whisperlite is the only stove I've needed for decades. Like I said, my old pump still works!BOTTOMLINE:Your MSR burner will last forever, just take it apart and clean it. This will turn your old stove into a new one for a lot less. Keep your old pump as a backup?

My original lasted 20 years. Though the original pump is now broken slightly, it is not a dangerous issue and still works as a backup. The new pump is built much better and made of better materials especially in the places that needed to be tougher. I am very happy with the pump and the entire device. My Whisper stove has stood the test of time and the abuses from flawlessly igniting and cooking 100's of hot meals often prepared at times during an excursion when I was either too tired, too cold, too wet, or D) all the above to even consider being gentle with my kit. This is about the only piece of kit that has survived so well, and this replacement part will give me another 20 years and likely more.Bonus: Came with a new aluminium heat shield set (bottom and side) like the original kit.

I broke my other one by being in a rush and turning off the valve to tightly. Stripped out the plastic threads. This one is working as it should just wiah the threads were not plastic.

Needed a replacement pump for a 30 year old MSR stove. The original pump literally fell apart but I can’t really complain because I did get many years of use by replacing and occasional o-ring before I needed to replace the pump. The design changes of the new pump are striking in comparison to the old white pump, you should upgrade even if your old pump has not totally failed just to get the best performance out of your older stove. I actually like the ability to just buy a complete pump and wish I could do the same for some of my other stoves as the parts for the older non-MSR stoves are hard to find and more expensive than the cost of the complete pump.With the new pump my stove works better than new, I was surprised that the pump also included a new reflector and windscreen. Glad I didn’t order the replacement reflector and windscreen at the same time I ordered the pump.

Have an older model but this fits it perfectly. No issues at all.

After a very serious leak on my old pump last week, I called MSR and they said they would rehab my stove and pump for $25 plus shipping, which is a very reasonable deal. But I decided to order this new pump to see if it would fix the leak problem faster and maybe a dollar or two less. It just came in and I'm very pleased with the new pump design. Also, they do not mention it anywhere in the description or even on the box or paperwork, but included in the box with the pump is a new MSR folded aluminum 20" x 5.5" windscreen, a 9" dia heat reflector and a small tube of "pump cup oil". Wow. Thanks, MSR!!

The pump was delivered in its original package, with all paperwork. Also included was a small vial of pump oil. What was unexpected was an original MSR windscreen, in new condition, included inside the box. That will come in handy!
