Literally for anyone on any occasion- wedding, divorce, wisdom teeth removal, college graduation, coming out, festivus, even the dreaded baby shower- when they give you that look of “what the …?”. You tell them that it’s for the kid in all of us- now get the heck out of that dentist’s chair and make me a snow cone!”

A great nostalgic product!

This is just plain fun! We got it at Christmastime and even the young ones could turn the crank. Fair warning though. You must not use icemaker cubes because you need to put sugar in the water and make your own cubes in a tray. If you don't, the ice will be too hard and the kids won't be able to make the ice shaver work. It will be too hard to do. But that being said, it works great. Just like the ones when you were a kid! (and BTW, you don't need to buy the refills for flavoring. Use your favorite juice, It's better for the kids.

Buyer beware! I didn't read the entire listing and it says "As is." Well, it's not "as is" the image on the page. The packaging...the gray board box with Snoopy, etc. on it...was badly torn as was the thin plastic tray holding the flimsy plastic doghouse ice shaver, 3 paper cups, and a flimsy "shovel." The packet of flavoring was so old that it had corroded the aluminum off the mylar-like plastic packet that it was in. What a major disappointment for both me and my grandson. This $27.55 piece of junk doesn't have $1 worth of material in it. For not much more, I could have gotten an actual well-made ice crusher and decorated it with Snoopy stickers. With so many reviews being bought and sold out there, it's impossible to shop Amazon with confidence. And, for whatever reason, I can't upload photos to illustrate this mess.

Just as we remembered this in the 90's. A little hard for a child to use on it's own but does the job.

It takes a long time to make a small cup of shaved ice. The handle on the back repeatedly comes off and needs to be re-attached. The cutting cylinder is not particularly sharp. The external house is very flimsy and bends continuously as the handle is turned. Fun to use once, but I think an ordinary hardware store file will make ice shavings much faster. Also, mine was missing the flavor packet. It comes with an empty syrup bottle, which I mostly filled with cherry Jello powder (maybe half the Jello package) and then warm tap water. The resulting snow cone tasted pretty good!
